Senior Buyer whose specialty is electronic components with 27 years of experience. Recently ended up in the medical world and realizing I under sold myself. Management asked me to do an analysis and come up with a number. My current salary is 82k. In our industry with the same experience etc. jobs are posted for up to 108k. Management mentioned that they want to keep people and they pay their worth. I got this position through a recruiter. Any information good bad or indifferent is appreciated!
Has anyone made a successful transfer from the EM/EL position at MBB to a VP at BB ibank, or vice versa? I know the skillsets are different but wouldn’t they even out at the project management level?
Starting a new job soon and have some time off before then, besides relaxing, anything I should do to prepare for the new position?

Do you think gender ratios in this industry would change if HR / talent departments were more 50:50, than 99:1 or so?
How’s the culture at MasterCard (tech roles rather than advisory/consulting roles) compared to big tech and/or big4 consulting? Would it be a good exit from consulting?
What’s the salary range for an associate in corp strategy at a pension fund? Interviewing for a position with 4 YOE in consulting and non-MBA masters
See this being shared everywhere on LinkedIn and Twitter: If white women continue to be the face of diversity, then what is diversity?
Quite a few diversity posts have popped up, here are my thoughts and would like yours too: the end goal should be to have a work force that is representative of our country. Cont.
Just finished MBA; my start got delayed to November. I got another job in the meantime. Analyst role, I was crazy overqualified for it, but they’d take me knowing I was leaving in 4 months. Better to include this on my resume going forward, or to have a 4 month gap?
Heads of Diversity & Inclusion. Do we never get any Asian persons to qualify for such positions in Corp America??
DM for a referral to KPMG!!
thoughts on this inclusion thing? As a minority it seems to be a publicity stunt... for the pictures and social media posts... Just confused about why we are still talking about what needs to get done
Best consulting firms for real inclusion?
Client was at a desired exit, had weekly interactions with the team there, and project ended well. Any recommended next steps, ultimately would like a role there but perhaps not this team.
Currently interviewing with Barclays. I made it past the first round interview with the hiring manager and now interviewing with 3 other individuals. The role is a mix of product/strategy/innovation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. It seems like harp on their “Barclays values” a lot.
I really don’t understand the hate against Diversity and Inclusion efforts. I grew up hearing my parents worry about being passed over for promotions and denied opportunities, due to race. It’s a real concern for black professionals.
When you dream you're in a dark labyrinth with no exit, it might be time to roll off your project.
I hope most of us can agree on the below as fellow Americans: -Any group wanting to cause harm to people or a specific group of people have no place in our country. -Clearly our country is hurting and needs productive dialogue at the community, state, and national level from both sides. -One side is never right. MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN are also rarely right. -We’re in dire need of empathy and care for one another regardless of political views, race, geographic location, gender, etc.
Has anyone mailed it in on a project and got successfully rolled off without ramification? I’m supporting multiple projects, never asked for one in particular, and I have limited time for it. Everyone else is on it full time so they of course expect the same sense of urgency, but it’s down on the list of my priorities. Replacement staff extremely limited and I’m not going to spend loads of extra hours as I’ve done in the past to save another project. Nobody will ever learn.
Where are some resources for preparing for biz ops/strategy at tech? (Blog, slack, website, courses, etc)
I am working for a boutique consulting firm for over 5 years now. Have a M.Sc. and not planning on doing a MBA. How do I transition into Tech/ VC?
Currently an M2 in consulting with 8YOE (no MBA). If I am looking to interview for a role at Amazon for a Senior Program Manager, would that be an L6 or L7 role? Trying to gauge the total comp I should be stating to the recruiter.
At the other big 4 firms - what are the details of the maternity leave benefit? How long does someone have to be employed before qualifying? How long is the leave before labor & how long is the leave after? Thanks!

A friend is pushing really hard to recruit me coming in as a Manager at Deloitte but I have some concerns: 1. 5.5 weeks of PTO 2. Bonus payouts close to 40K 3. Base salary for managers starting out at $155 4. Good work life balance (I call BS on this one) 5. Great culture. No up and out culture? 6. Rank managers based on a scattered plot 7. $25 signing bonus Deloitte laid off a bunch of people last year and now are saying they had their best year ever? Any insight will be appreciated.
At Cisco and haven't gotten a raise since I've been here in almost 3y. I didn't pursue it the first 2y because I had close family deaths and poor performance. Now I'm outperforming my peers and ready to look elsewhere. Word on the street is that my org is getting stiffed pretty hard during focals. Any chance of bringing an outside offer to the table and getting a raise? Promotion? Just curious what your experiences are like. Managers, tech leads, whatever..
Thinking about leaving my current firm I’ve been at less than 4 months. I had an interview this week that went pretty well. I would be altering my practice area slightly into what I actually have been wanting to do my whole career. Thinking about what I’m going to say and how I’m going to do it when I leave and I’m SCARED. My biggest fear is disappointing people and having people think I’m useless and a failure. Do I leave or do I stay?
Why do digital advertising strategy roles ask for writing samples? I’ve come across this requirement a couple of times now and everything I’d write as a strategist is client-specific and confidential🤷

What should all in comp be for first year associates? Base I got quoted is 175, trying to figure out what % of base to expect with bonus. Should I get min bonus language in writing with the recruiter in the offer letter?
