Hahahaha. Being acting manager is even worse.
But it’s a “great experience” 🙄🙄🙄
I'm an actual senior and I still get no reward
Couldn’t agree more. And don’t expect any performance differentiator... because this is “expected”.
How is leading a job expected of a second year associate? Also they aren't even dangling early promo.
Yep, also acting senior. Worst busy season of my life.... so much stress and pressure yet still my same associate salary... 🙄less than 6 months left tho till promo thank god
How are you being used, OP? You’re literally doing what is expected of you for your job
Yea just wait til you’re a senior doing that job along with acting manager. Just wait.....
Your job is to do what is asked of you. If you aren’t happy about what you are asked to do, get a new job. Most people in B4 will be “acting [fill in the blank]” throughout their entire career. That’s what this job is.
That’s BS
I had to be “acting manager” for three weeks on a PCAOB provision until they replaced the manager as a senior one; it was the worst three weeks of my life to date.
Wow. When I was an acting senior I took it as an opportunity to prove my worth and solidify the deal for promotion. Which it did. Then I was an acting manager for a while and same thing. And senior manager Doing the job above yours is the best way to get that job. If your firm isn’t seeing that and just dumping on you because you’re still there, you need to find a better work environment.
Get used to it op. These places use you up until you leave. Then they'll do it to someone new until the end of time.
I get that you need to show that you are capable of senior, but I feel like if your not going to get early promoted that should be in your third year. My office has a ton of second years senioring right now. Ridiculous, they can't early promote all of us
Better gtfo if ya don’t get the promotion
Sucks you guys have to be staff for a 3rd year
Okay then yeah that’s bullshit I’m sorry
Very thankful for this post. This is my third busy season, first as an acting senior. I have cried everyday going to and leaving work because I’m stressed and unhappy. I’ve been thinking about quitting
It sucks. Been acting senior on all my jobs since last May
You set yourselves up, folks. When they approached me to be an “acting senior”, I told them I needed time to think, in the meantime, I did little research on the client they were going to send me to...and was told to stay away. So went back to them and said that I really like the team I am with right now and the client and do not want to switch. Also, I did ask about the raise and was given a NO. In the end, they still promoted me. So grow some balls and take charge of your career instead of some manager or partner do it for you. NO ONE knows what is best for you but you.
