For the most part, WLB gets harder to manage as you move up the ladder. There are more and more demands on your time, the more senior you get.

Anecdotal but a lot of PPMDs I work under also work those odd hours because they frequently have family obligations during that 4-7pm time period where I’d normally just work through. It’s easier to manage the hours when you only gotta worry about yourself

Everyone does this differently. You can do 30-35 hours a week if you do it right at SM at least.

All the Partners I work with seem to work more then I do. As a newer Director it is making me question if that is something I really want to do.

No partner ambitions here. I am fine with the comp, work level, influence and ability to manage a step down. All that glitters isn’t gold.
