Seems relatively self-explanatory?

Pros of staying: you make partner. Cons: you make partner.

Yes, many of them do. Many people in industry do too. It’s not like leaving consulting is a guarantee of good WLB.

How fast you want to progress, how well the industry company grows their employees, pay increases each year, and how high you’re actually moving into the industry company.

If you like being a consultant, the benefit of staying in consulting is that you get to keep being a consultant. If you don’t like being a consultant, the benefit of leaving consulting is that you don’t have to be a consultant anymore. I find it odd that people treat jobs as though they are fungible. What do you actually want to spend your time doing every day? Figure that out first.

I agree with Accenture 1. It all depends on how fast you want to progress in your career. « Do I want to get paid better or do I want to grow faster? »

As SC1 said, it’s somewhat self explanatory. I left consulting and went to a startup though, and our career framework has people in a given level for approx. 3 years. If you’re able to find a company that has solid career growth potential and more pay, it seems like a no-brainer.

When you get a rental car, what do you do to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of for some bogus issue/scratch that’s already on the car? Take pic/video before, tell the checkout person of any issues (although this can be hard especially if at a smaller airport & you get the keys in the airport and there’s no gate when you leave), buy the rental insurance? If you have a card that covers rental cars (CSR, Amex Hilton) do you decline rental insurance and use the card benefits?

Consultant vs specialist track - I’m considering jumping to the specialist track since I enjoy the technical work much more. However, it seems like it’s perceived as a step back. But what are the tangible differences? Lower pay and benefits? I’ve asked my cc but she doesn’t seem to have much to offer. Also, is the culture different? ….I really dislike working with hyper competitive people, most in consulting are great to work with, but there seems to be a solid 30% that are bad humans
