I have 60k worth of student loans from a grad program with an interest rate less than 5%. Would it be wise to continue to max 401k and Roth IRA, and pay the remaining into student loans or reduce retirement contributions and pay off loan ASAP?
I am leaving my current employer end of this week and joining another one soon. Is there anything you wish you did during your last week from financial perspective ( 401k , pension , paychecks etc. ) ? Looking for things I need to keep track off Thanks in advance
How do taxes on your 401k work when you retire? People say if you make less money do roth 401 bc youll be in a higher tax bracket later on. But what if a year before I retire and take out 401k money
First time switching jobs and need advice for what to do with my 401k. My new employer has a different 401k provider, and I don’t want to just hold on to the small 401k from old employer. What should I do?
Can you tell me how much salary you earn (ANNUAL) and what’s your 401k contribution (per PAYCHECK) !? Just want to get an idea if my contribution is very less or okay. Mine: 137K, $368.
If you were in the beginning of your career (make less than 100k) and in HCOL area, how much were you able to save after maxing out everything (401k, HSA, roth, etc)?
How do you guys figure out your spending and saving rates/goals? Obviously there's some common sense rules (max out 401k contributions, don't be so stingy you only start really living when you're old and rich), but do you guys have any advice for a 22 y/o on how to allocate my money in ways that'll maximize happiness over the long run? I want to build good habits early so it's easy to stick to them and would love any tips or advice
FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
Any advice on how to determine the best % of pay to allocate towards ESPP? I don’t want to reduce 401K because I want to continue reduce AGI
Help with an offer at pre-IPO tech unicorn. Current: 112k base, 15k bonus, 3YOE Offer: 120k base, 16k bonus, no sign-on, 70k RSUs vesting 25% after 1 year and 7% each quarter after that. I’d like to ask for 135k plus 10k sign-on since I’m forfeiting 5k bonus and another 8-9k in unvested 401k. Is that reasonable? I’d be ok with 130k and 5k sign-on
How does tax work with RSU? If I'm working in Seattle with $160 base + $60k RSU + 10% bonus What would be my take home pay excluding 401k contribution, insurance and other deductibles? If I'm getting taxed on TC, then my cash payment will be small, ain't it?
Has anyone filed taxes after a 401k/IRA withdrawal under the CARES act? Seems like Turbo tax does not accommodate the change yet, so I'm wondering how ppl have done it (if they have so far)?
When moving companies, is it better to rollover to your new employer’s 401K or personal IRA?
Starting a new job and rethinking my retirement contributions. So far have put between 7-10% of my salary into a 401k over the last two years, debating if a Roth IRA is something I should consider. New firm matches 3% to 401k, will be making 123k. Thoughts?
Does anyone have any experience with schellman? I had never heard of them and a recruiter reached out. From what I’ve read on Glassdoor the pay and benefits are very good (10% 401k match, health/dental insurance covered by the company)
I have about 40K in savings, 35K in stocks, 110K in 401K. No debt and loans. I am thinking about buying a house/Condo in a year or two. I contribute 12% to my 401K. Any investment suggestions until I buy a house/condo? Right now I am comfortable paying up to $1800/month for mortgage loan. Single here.
What’s the best place to save money besides 401k and Roth? One that preferably isn’t restricted until retirement
I just turned 24 and paid off my student loans earlier this year so now I’m looking at additional retirement fund/savings options. I have a pretax 401k and I’m thinking of adding a Roth IRA. I’ve done some research on the Roth conversion ladder and it sounds like these would have me in a good position? Any advice welcomed!
Tracking my NW over the past 3 years, monthly average savings is $2K. This is a mix of pre tax savings (401K,ESPP) and post tax savings (IRA,cash). Is this a good place to be in or need to save more?

Something I’m struggling with as it relates to the rise of the “Karens”. I get it, Karens suck and are very real but why is it that women always have to deal with this kind of stereotype? Men, especially Trumpian white men, are just as bad about their own privilege. Maybe they handle it differently or maybe people are less inclined to record them? I don’t know. But somehow it feels like yet another divide between women. Just wish we could make it less about gender and more about privilege.

Had been considering trying to pivot to product post grad (MBA). Would that be a pay cut? Current TC 215-230 depending on bonus. Have a couple years in IT experience (CCNA, Sec +, some software dev work) but not sure what the experience cutoff for TPM or level would be either way. Anyone willing to provide some insight? Appreciate it!
