How much of FDD would you say is check the box vs. actual value add (percentage wise)? Seems often where the deal is pretty much good to go (PE firm has already done their due diligence) and you're just brought in as a formality (hence why it's seen as glorified audit). Sell-side seems to add more value since you work with the client.

I have joned cognizant recently . After 3 weeks suddenly they stated that they will release me to bench . Now Its being 1 week no one contacted me from the team & also they have not released me to bench . Unable to understand the plan now 😅 Manager is saying my skillset is not uptomark for this project . So f…ing tired of padding bills. I’m an inhouse lawyer often working with biglaw. On a cost-sensitive project we’re working on, we agreed on a max cost limit. Initial 30m meeting with partner and sr associate, jr associate comes in. I instruct them to limit inititial work to half-3/4 day of research and putting thoughts down to the paper. We received a 10p legal memo without further discussions. First bill: Limit maxed Junior associate billed 50h Partner billed 1h for 30m meeting Crazy!!
