I joined a company X, checked LinkedIn and it shows 50-200 employees. Its website shows it has presence in Europe, Singapore, US. But, when I joined it is company of 40 ppl(30 Engg+10 others). I got job offer from LTI Mumbai
IDC about salary, my end goal is to learn & know end-2-end tech, work in MAANG in next 1-2 year
LTI said they would put me on bench and based on skillsets assign me random project. In 'X' no laptop/work assigned, yet less clarity on project

It's just been a month working here and yesterday got the salary slip for the same. The salary that will be credited is much less than estimated (including the deductions), and I'm not at all satisfied with that. What should I do? Shall I wait for the appraisal next year, does TCS provide a hefty amount as an appraisal for the first year? Is that a real thing?

Even if you work from the home office all the time does it make sense to do consulting in the Bay Area and compete with tech folks? Seems like the big4 or MBB would never pay as much as tech 😕

What would you do? I was laid off and now have two directions:
1) Back to old job in industry with security and knowing what I’m getting/how to do the job well/job security but $15k reduction in salary plus nominal API still working 60+ hrs a week...
2) Consulting again at big 4 but don’t know team and threat of unpredictability/more layoffs but $25k increase in salary.
