Hi Everyone,
I just received an offer to work as an software sales representative (SDR) for IBMs Z systems. I'm coming as a sales engineer in the cloud security space. Can anyone advise me on whether Z systems are something worth going into? Also what do the growth opportunities look like at IBM? Is there opportunity for lateral movement onto other teams? Not too sure how I feel about working on mainframes (Z systems) but they keep pitching hybrid cloud to me. IBM
Bless you PMs.

Glassdoor has great wlb
Netflix, Google, and startups by folks associated with those places come to mind. Netflix is famous for amazing base pay, 40 hour weeks, but being expected to be "on" all the time in those 40 hours. Google is famous for some rest and vest, while being able to be negotiated with for top of market money (but will low-ball you at first). The tradeoff at Google is often limited scope in your role and very slow upward mobility. Startups are a tossup company to company, of course.
Also old guard tech giants -if- we're talking about a strategic growth team. Oracle comes to mind with top of market pay in their cloud products. Bet you could get some good numbers out of IBM too if you negotiate with multiple offers. What you do once you're in companies like this is limited by your ambition, but don't expect raises handed out.
I'd be wrong not to mention Microsoft, but don't know enough about their offers or org cultures other than that they vary all over.
Go for depth in your role and breadth in your search :)
Adobe?
Heard it's slower and pretty lackluster, but nothing bad as pay and wlb goes. Great publications by their ML research folks too, for whatever that's worth to you
