Is it terrible to expense all 4 parts and exam fee for the CPA exam before my last official day (as I'm one of the unlucky ones to be laid off )?
Does anyone know if Starwood does a global promotion for the Fall? If so when does it usually start?
For those companies / roles with unlimited pto, how does a payout work if you leave and /or are laid off? Receive nothing or some set amount?
Does anyone else not feel professionally satisfied? I’ve accomplished everything I really wanted. Got into dream schools, the firm I wanted, client groups, transfers, etc. Every promotion has come and ratings are great. I should be comfortable and satisfied, but then I feel like I can always professionally accomplish more? Yet I look around I don’t see many “better” options and / or alternative paths.
The apple update is such a public screwup. Somewhere a junior developer just got fired for it
Can someone explain the difference between being counseled out and being fired? With an emphasis on why counsel someone out but not fire them, and vice versa.
Ask for career advice - my MSA friend started in industry as staff tax accountant four years ago and never really got promoted but got 10% raise after all these years. (to be continued)
First year associate here - really freaked out by FS layoffs and think I might be next. How am I supposed to find another job after 6 months?
Inspired by another thread- has anyone reported something and ended up taking a severance/ signing an NDA? What was your experience?
Hello! I just got a raise and I’m officially making six figures under 25 (a personal goal I always wanted to reach) I’ve also worked my ass off to save this year so I’d like to treat myself to a piece that will remind me of this career milestone. What handbag, piece of jewelry, or other “hallmark” are you glad you splurged on early in your career? I’m not a huge designer handbag gal, but I want something tangible to remind me of my hard work getting here. Thanks!
What are your thoughts on this article? I was confused by how an earnest request of how to deal with money matters turned into a "you are sexist and part of the problem" epithet. Interested to hear if others agree or disagree with the approach taken in this article and what I might be missing. https://www.marketwatch.com/amp/story/my-girlfriend-makes-twice-what-i-earn-i-reluctantly-paid-the-200-dinner-check-for-her-first-promotion-she-just-got-another-one-should-i-pay-again-11627260385
In your opinion what is the future of PR? With more media getting laid off, will earned media turn into a tactic underneath digital?
Layoffs yesterday 😭 We had a brutal round of layoffs before break too and we all thought we were safe for a while. I still have my job but the survivor’s guilt is real.
I am a L10 working in the SAP space within CDO at Accenture. I have been at the firm for a little over 7 months and would like to know come the next promotion cycle how I could switch from CDO to C&M.
About to hit 1 YOE in my first job post grad and have a feeling raises/market adjustments won’t be sufficient due to Covid even though the firm seems to be meeting expectations in terms of the feedback we’ve received from management. Is it a good idea to start applying to different opportunities in case my raise/adjustment isn’t what I’m expecting at year end? Not sure how long the average job search could take...
Can I ask my current employer for a pay raise upon graduation with a technical MS degree? If so, how much? Thanks in advance!
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
Question for you all: Left D to Company A for a 50% raise in TC and slated to start in <1 week. However, just got an offer at Company B for a 100% raise in TC compared to D, or 30% raise in TC compared to company A. Both firms do similar work but B provides a more solid comp package. Job duties would be relatively similar. Is the % jump worth burning the bridge? Would have chosen Company B if the offer came sooner but the % difference in A to B is at my [personal] 30% threshold. TIA!

Heard that American Airlines gets 80% of its business from 10% of their customers. Other 90% only fly once a year. That explains having to do the safety thing every time... 👈👉💺
for a 2nd round webcam interview with one finance manager do you suit up or is shirt and tie ok? Feels stupid to wear a suit in your bedroom for a webcam call…
Can anyone at Deloitte comment on the Center for Process Bionics practice? What are the skills/tools you use on your projects? What type of projects do you get staffed on? I’m trying to assess if I’m qualified for this role and type of work is being done.Thank you.
Siting in the lounge of a hotel in the middle of nowhere... Surrounded by old men... Save me!
Just interviewed with Google for an analyst role and the questions were pretty freaking tough.... Not feeling great. Any advice?
Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?
Hi Ladies. It’s my understanding that everyone working at Salesforce loves it, correct? Looks like a cool place to work but not sure how it actually operates on the inside. I’m talking to a recruiter soon and would like to have an idea of the culture. Pls let me know! Thx!
What are your thoughts on RSM consulting? Specifically on compensation, WLB, exit opps, and types of work.
