HA wont treat wrinkles. I would recommend using OTC retinol or prescribed tretinol, in combination botox if you are up for it
I like The Ordinary but you’re probably better off with a retinoid or something else for wrinkles - hyaluronic acid is more for moisture
Yeah get a retinoid and a good vitamin C serum. I had prescription retin-A but the Skinceuticals OTC on is good. It’s pricey but worth it. I also use the BeatyStat vitamin C. Again pricey but you can’t cheap out on vitamin C. I also get Botox because I’m a super expressive person and needed something else to help me. Everyone’s situation and preference is different!
Thanks everyone for your help! I’ve been using the CeraVe retinol for about a month and haven’t seen much progress, which is why I was looking into also using HA. I think I need to use the retinol for more than a month to see any results. Thanks!
How often do you use retinol? Every other night, every night, etc.? You can increase the frequency if it does not irritate your skin, or look for something with stronger dose.
Elta MD sunscreen is the best I’ve found.
I use drunk elephant for hyalyronic acid, recommended by a Sephora store associate. For sunscreen, I like biore aqua rich or super hoop serum. I used to use la roche posay serum also. There are some sunscreen moisturizers that I also use on dryer days from the same brands.
I love tretinoin and have every intention of using it for years, but it’s not a quick fix. Think like... 6 months to notice a difference and even longer to really see what it can do. I think most retinols are like this, which may be why you haven’t seen results from the cerave.
I like purito comfy water sunblock, it’s SPF 50 PA++++ and leaves no cast on my medium tan skin tone. I think it’s ~$15

Eaoron is my favourite brand :)
ELTA MD for sunscreen pricey but worth it
Clarins UV Plus tinted, for sunscreen. It is the lightest weight sunscreen I’ve ever found. Not sticky at all — and the added tint makes it the only thing I’ll throw on for around the house / running errands to feel a tad put together.
Dermalogica also has a good nighttime retinol (I’ve interchanged with skinceuticals).
Generally, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin with Clarins double serum, M-61 vitamin C in the AM, retinol + Clarins firming night cream PM, and Clarins has this AMAZING mask (it’s purple container) that I’ll put on for 10 min in the AM and I swear my face looks flawless the rest of the day. An older co-worker swears it’s drastically improved her neck overtime as well.
