Best Marriott hotel and best place to stay in Paris? Want to be near everything! First time visitor

Hi! I used to live there for a few years. Below are my suggestions for neighborhoods (arrondissements). Generally speaking Paris is extremely dense and well connected, so you’re only 30 mins metro/1 hr walking max. - 3rd/4th (marais) - 5th/6th near Luxembourg. A bit quieter but walkable to all the action -9th/18th in between Sacre Cœur -12th (this is where I stay when I visit my friends but I’ve heard some Americans say it feels seedy. I humbly disagree) I would avoid the 1st, 2nd and 7th arrondissements for lodging as they’re pretty touristy and you pay a premium without much of the cool/niche restaurants, cafes, etc around you.

Of course!! Have a wonderful trip! 😊

Are you using points for your stay? If not, don’t stay in a chain hotel! You’ll get a way better feel for Paris if you stay in a smaller, boutique property. I loved the Hotel d’Orsay around the corner from the Musée d’Orsay the last time I was there.

There is a hotel called the Renaissance and one of the suite options has a beautiful Eiffel Tower view, I really liked it

I think this used to be a Hilton when I stayed there, perfect location for sightseeing & we had an Eiffel Tower view from our balcony.

Aloft Orly Airport

While I ended up somewhere else, I found that the Westime Vendome had an incredible location, lots of Eiffel looking rooms (which you can also use SNAs for), and decent point rates for the city

like

Had a good experience at Vendome.

I enjoyed the Le Meridien. I used points otherwise I would have stayed in Montmartre!

There's a Marriott right on Champs Elysees.

On the Paris topic, any recommendations for dinner reservations Christmas night? I know a lot of places will be closed so want to secure a reservation, I don’t eat meat / traditional heavy foods

Try Le Soufflé! One of my fave spots in Paris and their vegetarian options are wonderful. Other great options are Le Chien Qui Fume, Le Coupe-Chou, and La Frégate! You’ll find something to love at all of them.

Watch out for pickpocketers where ever you stay.

Ignore Accenture. No more than you’re likely to get pick pocketed in New York or Chicago

Current senior graduating in December 21. Go to a complete non-target but have multiple experiences at well known companies/banks on my resume. Current intern at a very well known tech company in their consulting arm… but have had zero luck on applications. Denied by big 4 through the top 10 for entry level development programs, BA, and associate roles. Had great connections a year ago, but since, they’ve all moved to industry…. What would you do?
