Hi everyone! Excited to be posting for the first time here! I just got my first job offer in Washington DC as a social media content producer. It’s entry level and I’m fresh out of school (just graduated last month!) Any tips for negotiating salary and benefits? How can I tell if I’m being low balled? Does anyone know a number I should ask for this position? Thanks so much for the help!
USI folks - Do you know if the Sum assured of the health insurance offered by Deloitte is for per year or total. Context, I am currently at Deloitte US and thinking of requesting a USI transfer because of a serious health issue for one of my parents. Would be really thankful if someone can clarify 1)Will parents existing conditions/treatment (Chemotherapy ) be covered from my day of joining and 2) Will sum assured will reset every year (if yes, then when, January or our FY). Thank you
Got an offer from a firm that’s very high, but the catch is they don’t do your health insurance, so they include 25-30k extra in your b for that. I just wanna know if that estimate is close/realistic
🐠- Recently separated from the firm. What are my options with regards to keeping/transferring my existing 401K? Don’t have the next gig lined up. Appreciate the guidance.
EY, whats the 401k match for EY employees. Looking for percentage contributed by EY and if there is any vesting cycle etc.
Hey guys, how much can I draw as take home from 25lac fixed ctc? I have maxed out 80C(1.5lac), Utilized 80CCD(1B) (NPS) - 50k Health insurance corporate premium - 12000/- per year.
OW who do you have benefits with?
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
Is there a way to access 401k funds in early retirement without a penalty? Been contemplating getting out of this rat race.
Would love some advice - during Covid, I transitioned to a smaller firm that had some great things to offer but has almost zero experience dealing with attorney maternity leave. They agreed to create a policy during the hiring process, and the administrator did come talk to me at some point after my hire to say they had settled on a policy and some paid leave, which is great, but they never verified in writing and the paid period was pretty short (maybe a month or 6 weeks). (Con’t in comments)
Anyone who's so is also in consulting or making good money? What do you do after you both max 18k in 401k and are not eligible for a Roth due to income limit? Only thing I've heard of is backdoor Roth
What does everyone do when they max out their 401k AND IRA? Taxable investment account? Something else?
Looking to gauge quality of offer: 175 base, 20% target bonus, no sign on, 40K equity that vests over 4 years. Role is Director of Corporate Strategy for Fortune 100 retail/healthcare company, I am based in Texas and working 100% remote (team is based on East coast). Third year Manager who will be promoted to SM this year. 7 YOE, no MBA.
For those in their 20s. How old are you and how much do you have in your savings? (Excluding 401k)
I sometimes worry I won’t be happy until I’m the day I retire ok kinda dramatic but God how do you get through bad days or leave the stress at work
Anyone planning to attend Wharton Entrepreneurship Acceleration program starting June 30th?Do let me know and we can both share the referral benefits
Does anyone know if we can reimburse expenses for items listed in Wageworks while on maternity? I know we cannot expense phone/internet/ commuter benefit as I am not actively doing work. However, for other items that fall under wage works reimbursement, I couldn’t find anything in writing yet.
Are the benefits for Deloitte comparable to PwC's? Ex: Unlimited sick days, firmwide shutdowns. Anything that PwC has or doesn't have?
Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?
How are you managing wellness and big law? I have hashimotos and between the high levels of stress and limited time to sleep (have regularly been billing 60+ per week) I feel like my health is getting away from me. I know people recommend to get up early to work out but if I'm regularly not getting to bed until 2 and then have meetings as early as 7 (but usually not until 9 or 9:30) I just can't bring myself to sacrifice the sleep time. Any advice?
Any Big4 attorneys have insight into PWCs People In Deals group? Interview coming up and could use the help. TIA!
What are everyone’s thoughts on big wage gaps in a couple. My boyfriend makes about 40k now and realistically won’t make more than 70k in his chosen career. I make more than double what he makes now and suspect that wage gap will only keep increasing. Is this anyone else’s situation? I don’t know how to handle as we have more shared expense (ie rent). Splitting payments equally doesn’t seem fair since I’m pushing for a nicer and more expensive place but I also don’t want to make him feel bad.
Anyone switch to recruiting? Internal or external and what size is your new company? How are hours and comp? Pros and cons?
I’m in process for the green card and will likely get it next year. Should I wait to apply for MBA next year when the green card is approved? Does it make difference in success rate if I apply as a foreign citizen (Chinese) vs. a green card holder?
Potentially have an opportunity to jump from audit to Transaction Diligence at EY. Currently a senior 1 in HCOL. Any insights on what I could expect for pay?
Does Adobe Connect give you the option to have a background image when you have your camera on—like Teams and Zoom?
currently at ZS. Vast majority of my weeks are under 50 hours (think 8am-6pm, 9-10 hour days) on average. Impartial to the work (some interesting, some not, mostly consulting/MR type stuff) and happy with pay. Priority for me is WLB/pay>type of work or industry. Is it even worth looking at T2 firms in this hiring spree? I'm guaranteed to work more than what I do now right?
I need your prayers please. I am going through a lot and I am not happy with where I am at in life. Please pray for me, I don’t wanna lose hope or my trust in Him.
How do you stay up to date on creative openings? I try to keep as up to date on new business wins and check on LinkedIn (job posts and searching for posts about openings), the Avail List and connect with as many recruiters as possible. But as most jobs aren’t even posted, how do you stay on top of it? I’m exhausted.
Anyone know the name of the interview prep company where you pay a previous employee for interview tips?
Used to have bad acne back in the day and now I have pock marks. Does anyone know for to improve skin texture?
After paying nyc rent, maxing out retirement accounts, and paying for heath insurance, I have barely anything left for other savings goals (house, vacation....general future). I’m in my late 20s...can anyone give me hope/advice? Already living with roommates.
Big 4 vs Goldman Sachs? Current an as in big 4 for implementation but got an offer from gs to work on the Apple Card. Honestly after working at big 4 and telling people where I work no one knows of it unless they are biz/fnce/acct majors or background. I feel like gs esp Apple Card will be a big boost in my resume. Not sure which offer to take - similar salary. Anyone know which one might be a better choice?
How do I know if leaving consulting would be right for me? I’ve been thinking about it for the past year. I feel very unfulfilled and unappreciated. I tried to brace through till next promo - which I ended up being passed over for last Dec. I’ve started looking into other lines of work that may be more rewarding for me, but I can’t seem to make the leap. Mainly, I feel reticent on letting go of the prestige that comes with consulting, and that maybe I should hold out for the promotion.
In one month we cleard out a 5000 sq ft office space and turned it into a lab running high throughput COVID pcr tests (600 per day rn).
