Nike is crap for running. Go with a real running shoe like Brooks. Even New Balance is way better.
Pegasus 38 is a great choice in my opinion, better ones are considerably more expensive
I used to use adidas but have been using mostly Pegasus for the past 4 years probably, really like it.
I run a lot btw (marathon, ultramarathon, Ironman, etc)
I'm currently in a pair of Nike Zoom Fly 3s. They have a carbon fiber plate and tons of foam cushioning that I learned I need these days.
I've got busted football legs and joints that get super sore after road running, these shoes completely counter that. I don't sprint in them, but they've been a lifeline for jogging.
Only negative is that they're pretty ugly lol
These are the cheaper version of EY-P 1s suggestion.
I agree with DA 1 that you should go to a running store, they almost always know their stuff.

Any reason why Nike?

Hoka Rincon 8 for an everyday trainer
How much running will you be doing? If training for a half or full marathon I would go to a running store and get fitted.
Go to a running store & get fitted for shoes. Shoes should be fitted for based on on your gait & your feet pronate & stay neutral.

Been a while since I’ve been in a Nike running shoe, but I really liked the Free’s I used to have
Still using one and love it

Very nice
I like the 38s. Good grip and cushioning. The heel is an improvement on the 37s. The Infinity Run Flyknit is also really good. Compared to the 38s, it has better cushioning, the fit in the toe box is a little wider, and collar comes up higher around the ankle so it feels more stable and supportive. It does feel a little heavier than the 38s though. If I do 2 days of running in my 38s, I’ll switch to the flyknit the next day to get a little extra support and recovery.
Flyknits are also more expensive. Full price they’re typically $40 more than 38s, and they rarely get discounted at the same levels. They also don’t have as many colors/style options as the 38s.
