You can shop around for good term policies. If you are a cpa, you can get good rates through AICPA. Do not buy insurance that someone tells you is also an investment. Permanent insurance is a rip off

I’m 32, married with a child. I have permanent policies on all three of us and about $1.5 million in term. The permanent policies are through Northwestern Mutual and my term policy is through Lincoln. Also have like 2-3x my salary through my employer, but that obviously goes if/when I leave my company
PolicyGenius.com is a good place to shop insurance. You should be able to get $2MM 20 year for <$100/mo.
Recommend doing 1x15 1x20 year and a 30 year term. Idea is if you die early your family is completely fine and you’re possibly over insured. As your policies expire you become self insured through your normal savings

Got a non-convertible 30 yr term, and a convertible 20 yr term policy for my husband and I each. We are freelancers so we wanted to make sure we’re covered. Went through an insurance brokerage and ended up with policies from AIG, ANICO, and William Penn.
