I have a good girlfriend who is 7 mos pregnant. Her current gig just cut her salary due to Covid, but offers 3 mos paid maternity leave. She has an upcoming zoom interview with a company with whom she think she’d be a good fit. She’s wondering if she should disclose her pregnancy at a call back interview or after an offer is made. Thanks for any insight you all have!
Looking to hear opinions on Roth vs Traditional IRA and 401ks. I have Roth for both, max out my IRA and contribute to my 401k. I started work last August so did Roth due to low tax bracket from only working part of the year. Now making 70k and wondering if I should convert one or both to traditional
Has anyone heard of Kaufman Hall? What's the culture like? Reputation? A recruiter reached out to me about their healthcare practice and I can't find much online

Any tech recruiters in here? My wife has just completed her MS in Cybersecurity and has been working in UHC for 10 years, currently a research analyst. She has been literally carrying every department she has been promoted to with the highest reviews. She’s yet to break the ceiling even with a BA in Healthcare Admin.. So, she is hoping to find an opportunity that merges Cybersecurity and healthcare. What opportunities do you guys have either remote or in middle Georgia?
I’m looking for assistance on building your own portfolio in my traditional 401K. I’ve been reading that it’s important to choose funds with low expense ratios. Also, that it is recommended to have at least one US stock, international stock , and bond. I am 24yo so ideally, I’d want to allocate 90%-100% to stocks and 0%-10% to the bond. Any other things I should be looking at?
Have been pinged for a possible role as Director of Operations at a promising looking startup with a 50%% pay increase & equity. It looks like an amazing opportunity.. but my husband and I have just started trying for our first kid, and I'm not sure about leaving the stability and benefits of Big 4, even though I feel like I have run out of career growth here. Has anyone changed jobs at a similar point, or worked at a startup as a new mom, that might be able to share perspective or opinions?
Anyone use BrainHQ and can speak to its benefits? I’ve been reading about it and doing the free daily challenges but now considering the subscription.
Benefits assistance, please! Context: 25F, unmarried, no dependents & no parents 1) Firm provides AD&D of $20k at no cost. Can purchase voluntary AD&D up to $500,000 for $3.50/pp. 2) Group LTD 60% replacement of first $150,000 of earnings for $4.57/pp. Inexpensive I know, but is this worth it for me? Or are these future considerations?
I have 60k in Cash (High Yield Savings and Checkings accounts). And 60k in Investment Accounts (401k, IRA,Taxable, Etc). Have 2 investment properties. I’m 25, should I be more diversified? I want to make sure I’m capitalizing on my cash as much as possible. Should I be putting more into the Markets in stead of having so much cash?

How does LEK’s healthcare practice compare to that of each MBB firm? All views welcome, zealots and balanced opinions. I work for the healthcare team and am considering defecting. Just wondering if the grass really is greener.
Is wlb for consulting in UK (London) better than that in US? Trying to convince myself that the pay parity is worth it. Also, could you please help me understand whether the total long term col (inc healthcare, childcare etc) in London is less than that in a hcol US city (say NYC), and thus the saving potential is similar? TIA!
Can anyone recommend how to get into mining with current shortages of graphic cards? Want to set up something for my parents as thy are getting older and I am afraid Gov benefits will be erased...
What do you invest in if you’ve already maxed out 401k and HSA and don’t qualify for IRA?
I’m between jobs, no longer have health insurance, & w/out a definitive start date. Really concerned what my options are going to be if I happen to get sick... anyone else in the same boat?!
Could use some structural layout help for a deliverable: Creating a one-page report that reflects a product offering, its benefits, and its significance (the ‘so what’) - currently only having multiple bullet points for each as the content, but think it’s not suitable aesthetically for a presentation. Any suggestions for how I should best format it for exec management? This isn’t a PPT.
I’m changing jobs and near my 401k limit in my current plan. How do I limit contributions with my new employer while still maximizing the match?
Hi everyone 🎅! I'm looking to join online communities (like this one) for people in customer success. Particularly Slack groups. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!
I live alone and have loved the time not traveling but WFH has really started getting to me the past few weeks. On top of that, I got a series of bad news this week that really took a toll on my mental health (one has affected my ability to visit family), and I’ve never felt this alone in my life. I miss having an office to go to and see others in. Even started skipping workouts & cooking, both of which I love. Could use hugs and inspiration to get past this hump
Is it worth it to get a travel car seat if you’re flying to a destination where you will then be driving? Kid will be 2, hoping to fly to see family later in the year. We have a big graco car seat we can take with us but I don’t know if it’s going to be a hassle or not.
Love those nacelles on the GEnx engines. Also, flying for PTO automatically makes it more enjoyable
What’s starting director salary in Boston for Assurance these days. Looking to move to the area and curious as to what folks in market are around to gauge conversations. Thanks!
When you date someone and she asks your TC, do you include in-flight target bonus, indicated on the offer letter? Or you only report base?
Hi, I am in the process of getting an offer from VMware Germany. Could someone guide me about the compensation I should be expecting for the role ? Position is Lead Cloud Solution Architect in Sales. Thanks.
Any senior consultants in Paris willing to tell me what your salary is? Trying to figure out the pay band and where my offer stands in relation to it.
Second year lateraling to a new firm and changing practice group - do I have any ground to stand on as far as negotiating bonuses? (Signing, Covid, year end, etc.)
Spouse just finishing degree in animation and visual design from a tier 1 school. Would anyone be open to providing a referral?
Touchy feely client asked me today, “how come you never talk about your family? Don’t you get along with them? Family is so important to me.” I’ve been feeling particularly alone and lonely during Covid, but even before... I’m 50, single, never been in a relationship, really feeling kind of down at this “midpoint” in my life. I kind of keep people at arms length especially clients I’ve never even met in person. 😔 How do you even respond?
What’s everyone’s desired end game in this industry? I know we don’t all want to be CCOs or start our own shops. Travel the world? Be a film director? Not a damn clue?
Working from home is miserable. Travel was amazing. Who's with me? Enough of us working together could strongarm our leadership in discouraging clients from cutting the travel model
Fish that use Audible to listen to books, does it have a decent number of personal finance books that are at the non-premium tier? I couldn’t figure out or find a search/list of unlimited included books… I did see the premium tier has 1-2 book credits a month
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
I have sponsorship from my consulting firm (tuition, requires 3 year commitment, definitely does not pay like MBB/T2). I got a 60k scholarship from Kellogg, should I just consider making a move to MBB/T2?
Is anyone in general just disappointed with the state of the world with covid? I feel like we’re sorta back to square one and I’ll never get the work travel perks again
