Best place to look for creative job postings?
I'm not ready to reach out to a headhunter...I just want to get a sense of what's out there.
WorkingNotWorking,
Indeed,
LinkedIn.
Any other ideas?

Honestly, it’s better to contact recruiters directly. LinkedIn is trash when applying for jobs. A simple job posting gets 200 applications and there is NO chance anyone is looking at your book. I know amazing award winning creatives who couldn’t get a thing off of those LinkedIn applications.

You’re better off reaching out and sending your book link.

Agree. I'm not actually applying at this point. Just seeing what's out there.

Cold email whoever is in charge of applicant intake or recruiting. Hell, even a CD.

Find the shop. Reverse lookup the email structure on Google (name@shophere.com) - the search will spit out the likely email structure. Find the name of the individual on LinkedIn or elsewhere. Install LinkedIn Sales Navigator Chrome extension. Go to your Gmail, compose a new message... type name.here@shophere.com in the “to” field and the name will likely pop up in the sales navigator tool because nine times out of ten, someone has their professional email linked with their LinkedIn account. That’s how you verify that it’s the right email because their profile will appear on the side - title and all. It doesn’t always work, but it’s a handy trick.

Have an intriguing subject line. Keep it short, make it personal, and link your book. No attachments.

Happy hunting.

Is anyone at a job they really, truly enjoy that also pays competitively (and has good benefits)? In my experience, I haven’t found anything that satisfies both. Either I love the job and I’m grossly underpaid or the job is totally mediocre but the money is great. Is it really possible to have it all or do I need to lower my standards? Maybe it’s just the way this industry is?

Someone please let me in on what’s going on with pharmaceutical advertising. Why is it the dumbest, most juvenile shit on television? It’s all horrible. My guess is you guys are getting paid a lot to work with a bunch of know it all, god complex doctors. So you compete to see who can create the biggest pile of shit on tv. Kind of the opposite of the One Show I guess. Please share because I cannot fathom how the dry eyes, eye drop commercial I just saw even got presented to a client.

At the start of the month, spoke w a CD I knew about a spot at his agency. He said my salary request was a bit high & told me his cap. Fine, still interested. After a couple of weeks of nothing, their recruiter calls me on Thursday to tell me more about the agency and the role, then says the salary parameters & it’s $5k less than what the CD said. I told her the number he said & she said she’d talk w him. Did I just ruin my shot? And when should I follow up?

Interesting discussion with agency CFO recently. Client-agency contracts are becoming performance based, less execution. Looks like if your spot won't bring in 💰💰 for the client, it's dead on pitch.

I know this has been discussed but can’t find exactly what I’m after... How much is too much money to negotiate? Negotiate for more money and more PTO or just one. Both are low, especially the PTO
