It takes time to adjust when you switch from litigation to corporate - in the way you think, draft, reply emails etc. Just by the fact that you care enough to ask for advice, I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it :) Couple of pointers: you may want to consider having your own precedent bank on top of the team’s precedents. Meaning to say, if you see email advice to a client from a partner/ another associate or drafting that could be used for your own work, save it in a folder on your desktop and label each document accordingly. It really helps for reference purposes when you’re starting out and stuck on a piece of work. Also, whenever a senior or a partner makes amendments to your work, do a document comparison against your draft. Save that document comparison in your internal folder as well; that way you can see exactly what is expected from you, and even helps you pick up the nuances on style across different partners.
This! I also save down great emails from more seasoned associates on my teams and fine tune and reuse them. I’ve had partners reach out and tell me how great some of those emails are.
