What is your end goal? Codecademy is really good for the very basics but not much use for enterprise work

Nah you should pay $0 for any python courses. Just do the basic free courses and read the documentation. It'll help you learn better.

Honestly, I am learning with a view to see what I can do with Python/coding. I have always heard how programming/coding is so powerful, everyone should learn and how you can automate stuff. But being a programming noob I don't now what that means and want to learn for myself. Data analysis is the most obvious use case for my work. But I am honestly looking to see what cool things I can do.

Following. To add my $.02 OP, I've done a bit of code academy. Helpful to learn the basics but don't think it gets too advanced.

Udemy should have some good courses. Get them on sale for $9.99

In same boat as OP. My problem is that I can't fathom what kinds of use cases coding would be additive in my job: e.g. a budget? A DCF investment analysis? A policy model? Excel pretty much covers it for me.

So I'm not quite sure what kind of project I can design to learn Python, so that I will have developed something at the end. I've tried learning in abstract with so many 'Hello World' intros but never seem to get anywhere...

I hear the U has a great zoology program at least on top of Python you will know how to determine who/what’s a snake and a rat...

Data camp for learning and hacker rank for practicing

What are you trying to do with it? Data wrangling? Scraping web data? Programs? Those online courses are BS .. learn it by writing programs

Hi, I am a single-parent with a 9 year old daughter. Is anyone else dealing with same gender sleepovers with sexual exploration occurring? Exploring as in my daughter says outright “I am going to kiss you,” to her bestie before bed. Then after 15 minutes of giggling in bed I go to tell them to be quiet and see my daughter’s bestie is showing her buttcheeks to my daughter. To top it off they start trying to tell me they are laughing because they are reading “belly laugh books for kids”. Help.

Happy Friday. Just a reminder of a few things:

- ADHD is a disability, but it’s not the end of the world
- give yourself a break. Your brain needs it more than you realize
- medication is not a cure-all treatment. Medication + diet + exercise + self-organization is the key.
- ADHD causes us to feel emotions stronger than the average person.
- failure is inevitable, but so is success. Act accordingly, and be kind and fair to yourself
- life is hard, but that’s… wait, what was I saying? 😂😎❤️
