What is your end goal? Codecademy is really good for the very basics but not much use for enterprise work
Nah you should pay $0 for any python courses. Just do the basic free courses and read the documentation. It'll help you learn better.
Honestly, I am learning with a view to see what I can do with Python/coding. I have always heard how programming/coding is so powerful, everyone should learn and how you can automate stuff. But being a programming noob I don't now what that means and want to learn for myself. Data analysis is the most obvious use case for my work. But I am honestly looking to see what cool things I can do.

Following. To add my $.02 OP, I've done a bit of code academy. Helpful to learn the basics but don't think it gets too advanced.
Udemy should have some good courses. Get them on sale for $9.99

In same boat as OP. My problem is that I can't fathom what kinds of use cases coding would be additive in my job: e.g. a budget? A DCF investment analysis? A policy model? Excel pretty much covers it for me.
So I'm not quite sure what kind of project I can design to learn Python, so that I will have developed something at the end. I've tried learning in abstract with so many 'Hello World' intros but never seem to get anywhere...
I hear the U has a great zoology program at least on top of Python you will know how to determine who/what’s a snake and a rat...

What are you trying to do with it? Data wrangling? Scraping web data? Programs? Those online courses are BS .. learn it by writing programs
