Best resources for (McKinsey) case interviews? I know the usual like Case in Point but curious as to other inputs

Case in point actually sucks for McKinsey. I would google actual cases specific to McKinsey because they have a very specific style and flow to them. Just do lots of those. Also check out some YouTube videos. You'll find a lot of MBA case prep PDFs online. I interviewed with McKinsey, and did well on cases, but didn't get the final offer because they wanted someone with more experience (so not talking out of air)

CIP sucks period. Beg, borrow, or steal good MBA consulting club case books (Kellogg, Wharton, Ross, Booth all great). They should have cases identified as McK style or interviewer led.

Embrace the Case by Brad Schiller. Provides a simple framework that you can use against almost any case except for operation focused cases

^Yep, case format hasn't changed

If you are looking to do practice cases, post a burner!

@BCG1 are old cases still good? Have case books from those schools from like 2005-2011

@m1, would interviewer led BCG and Bain (somehow I got my hands on ones from everywhere but McKinsey) work as well?

Not ideal... idk anything about Bain cases but the BCG style is not really the same as McK

Alright thanks. I too have a lot of Case books from 2006-2011 that say McKinsey specifically and are interviewer led so I'll focus on those. Thanks.

The skills tested in a BCG vs McK case are fundamentally the same. The cadence is just a bit different. For an experienced case partner, it's not hard to adapt most cases to be interviewer led a la McK.

And yes. If I recall Kellogg 2011 and Wharton 2009 were among my go-to's. On the flip side now (give interviews ) and both would be solid still. If you're desperate, the cases in Cracking the Case aren't half bad. The frameworks and methods are absolute brain cancer though... do NOT r as them.

Np. Good luck out there

Interview happened on 10th Feb 2022, I was asked to upload the docs on 14th Feb,2022, They said "verified ok" on every doc by 16th Feb,2022. Since then, I didn't get any phone call by HR or the offer letter. The HR who asked me to upload the docs isn't picking my call or responding to my mails. My candidature says "registered against the job". I don't know whom do I talk if my candidature is in place or not?
