I am currently employed as a Development Coordinator at a large non-profit hospital, where I am responsible for fundraising event logistics as well as assisting with fundraising, data analysis, and contract management. Weirdest reason to do great work #12 : My art director dumped me and now I want to come with a killer idea so I can replace the piece we created together.

I’m getting sick of getting a brief and asked to create a cool new campaign with amazing designs in less than a day. My best work isn’t turned around in less than 24 hours. And for background, I have pushed back literally every time. Nothing seems to be getting better.

How do you know if working in advertising is not right for you? First creative job and I can’t tell if it’s imposter syndrome, growing pains, or if I just should give up pursuing advertising.

I have seen AD in-house are required to have experience as manager of people.

Agencies that hire international folks? (Mid- senior level) I know it’s subjective and depends on your book etc but some straight up ghost you after they realize you don’t have an American passport.

Is 100$ hour rate for freelancing intermediate level (working 6 years now) graphic designer/art director based inLA a lot? Just submitted my rate to a fairly large agency but slightly concerned my numbers looks out of range. I believe my work is worth the price tag but I worry I’m being unrealistic with competition from more senior level designers

Last friday my O-1 visa was approved and I was about to send my passport to the Embassy. Five hours later the agency that hired me (the offer was sent in the end of February) dumped me and rescinded the offer. That was a big agency. Network. That was the happiest five hours of my life with the worst week in my life to follow. I quit the job, I moved from my place. I’m kinda looking for a job now.
