Old Clare is gorgeous, such a beautiful hotel but not super centric though, not far either. I'm not a fan of the Westin but it depends which tower you book. The Sheraton feels a bit dated and gets big tour groups. But the location is great, club lounge food is the best in Sydney imho and the beds are amazing. Rooms are big too and the rooftop pool is nice
I'd say Old Clare for lovely boutique hotel if you don't mind being a bit farther out, followed by Sheraton esp club room or at least Hyde park views.
Old Clare is great! The rooms are all quite different. I prefer the Westin over the Sheraton because of access to the Goodlife gym (Sheraton gym is ok, but just not as good) and a much larger range of food options within the building complex.
Ok but if you go with Westin, don't get a room in the shitty tower. Sorry can't remember the exact name...
Thanks! The pictures on TripAdvisor make it look like the Sheraton has nice rooms than the Westin...looks like it's been recently renovated or at least doesn't look like dingey US Sheraton properties
Sydney is a capital city. It’s definitely not dingy. If you get the new Westin tower, it’s pretty great.
Sheraton on the park was AMAZZING. The lounge was gorgeous with a fantastic breakfast spread. Got upgraded for my two nights there to a suite.
If you have any points at all with Hyatt it’s worth doing Park Hyatt in circular quay. Right across from opera house. Otherwise never done Clare but Westin/Sheraton are both fine.
I’m at the Sheraton in December as well. See you there!
Ah true, I was looking at the Sheraton for an upcoming trip and their website says they are renovating rooms. You might email them to ask how extensive the impact is. And yes - the Park Hyatt is a spectacular hotel but it's category 7 so near impossible to stay with points...
