I personally do not recommend TSLA as a new investor. There is a chance you could lose 50% of your investment over the next year if people start to sell. Especially with S&P inclusion coming up in a week, everyone could sell the news. Or people will wait until January to sell since they don't want to pay taxes on it this year. February would be smarter to buy because you would have a better idea of how strong the stock really is.
Genuinely think NIO could be a good buying opportunity
At these prices
Arkk and qqq
Start with index funds first to get an idea of market movement and then go to stocks. My issue when I first invested in stocks, I would panic sell everything after a few down days. Indices won't bleed as much as some stocks do.
That being said, FAANG and other big tech names are generally stronger stocks.

If you are younger, put 50% in etfs as suggested above, then 40% in stocks you believe in, 10% in high risk bets that are small now and have the ability to go much higher like pltr, jmia, etc. if you are older, do the same but do it 60-35-5! Just my opinion.
Tesla
Everything in naked Tesla calls
By the way, one more suggestion that was very good on here was arkk and arkf (actively managed funds)
Also wait for a dip to jump in, they come often enough these days with such volatility. i.e. today isn’t optimal to go all in on ARK funds, wait for some news on a delay in vaccines or something over the next month and there’ll be a couple percentage point drop
