If you want a suit under $500 I think Suitsupply is the best
I second indochino, particularly if you don’t fit off the rack sizing
For the money one can spend on Brioni or Tom Ford or Kiton, you can get bespoke. I only really do bespoke unless I find one of the above on sale.
Tom Ford is the only right answer. Brioni a close second
I’ve read the books lol
$500-$1000 range: SuitSupply
Sub-$500: Spier & Mackay.
You should be looking for half canvas constructed suits (or full if you can afford it), with modern cuts and fabric from reputable Italian mills.
Of the two mentioned, SuitSupply is “cooler” and has more options for colors, fabrics, etc. Spier & Mackay is great for work horse suits when you have to wear suits frequently (I.e. you have a trial coming up or make frequent court appearances. Both brands’ standard suits are half canvas and the quality for the price can’t be beat by any other brands on the market right now.
Bespoke. Expensive? Yes. But worth it.
