I am so grateful to have a job right now but I am really struggling. I’ve been at D for a little under a year and have been really unhappy with my experience. In particular, my current project and my direct supervisor make me feel unbelievably incompetent and under appreciated. Given COVID, there is little flexibility to roll off. I’ve tried to stick it through but I’m at a breaking point. Any suggestions on how to make the best of it? Or next steps?
How do you guys think about performance reviews? Try to get the best score you possibly can? Scrape by with doing the minimum while solving for sustainable hours, and then being OK with just an average rating / promotion timeline? Focus on lots of self-promotion? I know I could be better at this job if I put more time and effort into it - but is it worth it? The things I’m getting reviewed on seem rather nitpicky and don’t impact team efficiency or client outcomes so I’m struggling to care.
Anyone here from Chicago Deloitte HC? Any thoughts on culture, project type, etc. would be much appreciated.
I recently took control on a company project, and my workload has gone way up from before. I used to spend all of my free time with my partner, and they're growing annoyed at how often I have to work late. Any suggestions?
Quit my old firm, started my new one 4 weeks ago. On a understaffed first project acting as senior /manager with a difficult client. Thinking about quitting to go back to my old firm. Thoughts? Left on good terms/open door with my team offering a counter offer previously.
So I’m thinking about relocating to Portland since I’m on a long term project there, but I’m a bit scared that I won’t like it there, especially when it comes to nightlife and meeting others/dating.
It’s well known that the difference in work culture in Europe vs US is quite different. Can you comment on some of the differences when it comes to work/life balance, competitiveness, client dynamics
Any advice on how to go client side? Maybe how you’ve seen others make the jump? Thanks in advance.
Gotta love those moments when you spend hours on a last minute client request with an impossible deadline only to get feedback that completely devalues all the work you did
Sent an email to my network looking for a few points of research to round out a simple deck and am now being hounded by a team trying to sell their services to my client who doesn't need it. #sharks
Hard money loan for a buy, rehab rent project: 168k principal, 8% interest, 2.9% loan cost (4.8k) and 4 points (6.7k) The upfront cost seems a bit excessive to me or is this normal today?
Hi all, 3 years into MBB and job was taking the toll on me, and we were unable to get pregnant. I forced myself into an internal role to get some breathing space and therapy, and we ended up getting pregnant. But a few months in, I moved back to client facing and it has been absolutely difficult to spend time at home and keep my wife happy. She is expecting some quality time every day for a few hours, and I am just unable to do that. Its probably a combination of the job and also how I
headed to burma to help out with a covid relief project (and learn from their response). Wish us luck
I want to start taking the hijab - going back to work after a break and am client facing. Should I inform my partner beforehand? Anyone who has done that before?
How to make long days at the client go quicker?
What is a dumbrowsky? Manger on project keeps referring to things as pulling a dumbrowsky? I think American movie character but can’t find online
TFW you are just killing it in your job client loves you, partner loves you, team is great, location is great ....but your long term SO says "we need to talk when you get home"...
When you voluntarily divulge medical information to your team members, is jt expected to divulge said info to client as well?
Having a farewell zoom party after our project closed out tonight with people that range analyst - partner. Any fun zoom games to play?

Hi. I have a Panel Interview for a Salesforce product company. I need to do a presentation to the customer on the Product and how it will solve their problems. I need to do an elevator pitch for 3 slides about the company and then address the customer problems with the features of the product. Can you please share some Tips on these ( Elevator Pitch about the company and suggestions for the Panel interview) ? Thanks.
Hi ladies! I’m looking for a stylish and durable backpack for travel and work that will hold a lot of stuff (essentially will be my personal item for flights) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I know Tumi is always good but trying to keep it to below $150 if possible. Thanks!

How do you tell a recruiter that you are no longer interested in interviewing for a position without burning bridges? I spoke with HR and then the direct manager and realized it may not be a good fit for me. What do I say?
What is the best way to ask hiring managers about their people development skills? Finding it kind of hard to gauge with all these virtual interviews but want a manager who will actually help me grow.
Not entirely sure why this bothers me but I wanted to get my son a kitchen play set and a toddler kitchen stool for both pretend play and to be more involved in the kitchen. I didn’t think this was a controversial thing (is it?) but my husband and mil find it weird and keep saying how they don’t want him in the kitchen and he should be doing other stuff. To me, cooking is just a life skill not a gender role? And pretend play is just that. Am I wrong and has anyone experienced this?
EY fish. Giving notice. Do I just email my counselor and copy my project manager letting them know? Or only counselor first?
