Sound eager and knowledgeable about the role. Practice out loud explaining why you want and deserve the position. Research the hell out of the company and the role. All of that said, don’t fall into the trap of low balling on your expected comp because you think that someone else might be willing to take the job for less; they’ll be looking to hire the best person, and once they find that person, they will negotiate comp. If they ask for your comp expectations during the screener call, flip the tables and ask them for the expected comp range of the role.

If you were applying to a clerkship, which writing sample would you provide in the application (or both)? (a) an appellate brief that you wrote entirely by yourself that is not the best, and not directly on the subject of the judge’s expertise, or (b) an appellate brief you wrote with other students for a competition that is much better quality and on the subject matter, but disclosing it is not entirely of your work? Was heavily involved in the drafting of it, but would appreciate any insight!

I accidentally said sucks/ and a hiring managers first name in a 2nd interview for a TABP role and the company told the recruiter now they aren’t sure if they want to hire me because it. I was the top candidate for the position by a mile apparently. Should I just move on to the next one or are they being too picky? It’s been two years since I have interviewed and I was so nervous… is this what I have to look forward going back into the corporate world?

I’ve been interviewing with Google since July. Passed the first interview but the team I was matched with ended up hiring someone else. Recruiter told me that she will let me know if any other opportunities arise as I’m still in the running and haven’t been rejected. I know that interviewing with google is a long process but I’m worried the longer I wait the more likely I will be rejected or just never hear back. Anyone else in this situation? How long until you got an offer?

Asking for a friend: Coming out of top-10 MBA, and debating between 2 offers post MBA - Deloitte S&A or ZS. Comp: same base, but ZS offers COLA bump and 2nd year tuition reimbursement. Big comp difference in the short term, but I'm not sure if I want to commit to the life sciences route.
Will working in ZS commit me and limit exit opportunities long term? will broader scope S&A offer better exits?
Would love to hear thoughts

Anyone know what Program Manager packages range from at Intuit? I feel low-balled. I was on the initial 30 minute call and they asked my expectations, so I stated I’d like to here their range. They stated max salary: 167k, rsu 70k (4yrs to vet), and bonus 15%. I expect salary to be 225-300k and RSU to be over 100k

I have over 10 years in the payments space, some IT experience, and 8 years of Product Management. Role is based on Palto Alto/San Diego. Are there different Program Manager levels.

How do stock grants and refreshers work at FAANG and other big companies?

If an offer includes $160k in equity over 4 years, you would get $40k per year, right? Do companies give a refresher each year, so that the second year, you might get $40k from your first grant and another $40k from your second grant? Are people making 4x the equity their 4th year in house if they get a refresher every year?
