What island? If Oah'u - The courtyard Waikiki is perfect tbh - I had a project there for over a year and stayed there. You don't need a nice hotel in paradise
@OP , PT?
Hold up A1, you had a project in Hawaii??
Agree with A2. Courtyard is last resort if you need marriott stays / points and the Waikiki marriott is sold out.
I'm planning on doing Waikiki Beach next year for Marriott
Depends on which island, which chain and what types of trips (family, honeymoon etc.)
I stayed at Sheraton Resort (upgraded to full suite with ocean view) in Maui and The Royal Hawaiian in Oahu (very large suite, luxury experience). All spg points + suite nights, but it's possible that they don't have suite nights for the entire duration of the stay, so ended up changing room once. Also, getting one night free after 4 nights is also nice. Changed the original plan based on this when booking hotels.
The Royal Hawaiian is 25k/ night I think. Definitely not the cheapest but depends on what kind of experience you want.

Yup haha, greatest time of my life
Spg/marriott. Haven’t decided on island yet, but deciding between Kauai and Maui.
On that note, if you could only go to one island, which would it be? Kauai? Maui? Other? We’re into scuba diving, hiking/naturey stuff, & wanna do some cultural things too...not really into sitting on the beach all day
I spent time out there on a couple of projects. In Honolulu the Hyatt Regency has a very nice lounge for globalists - better than the Mariott Waikiki. However Platinums at the Mariott Waikiki often get upgraded to some fantastic suites. The Marriott is at the very end of the Waikiki strip. They Hyatt is closer to the middle.
I didn't try any of the SPGs on Oahu. On Maui stay at the Andaz - superb property or at the Grand Hyatt. On Big Island the Mariott Waikoloa beach is wonderful but do avoid the huge Hilton. On Kuaii I only stayed at the Hyatt and I would stay there again.
Kaui is the best IMO. Stay at the St. Regis or Westin. If you do Westin you will have access to the St. Regis Beach which is nice. Maui felt like going to Florida.
