Best value for points Marriott property in Hawaii?

What tips and tricks do you have to reach platinum status at Marriott without having to travel much? Can you get elite night credits without staying?

For Marriott 50 nights benefit: Should I pick 1) add 5 elite night credits to my 2020 total or 2) get five suite night awards? Currently titanium elite have 76 nights, 5 suite night awards expiring Dec 2021, and 1 free night expiring Jan 2021. Likely no travel/hotel stay for the rest of this year.
