Best way to ask for raise without making it seem like an ultimatum, don't have any offers lined up / haven't put in any substantial effort to get offers.

No one cares about your request. You need to be at least willing to walk. It’s best if you have another offer in hand, but you at least need to be willing to walk.

Are you a top performer? If not you probably should get some offers. You really dont have a strong position here

Yea. Although I was at top end of raises this year, I know they've still been offering more dollars to those that are still leaving.

You can ask but likely to fall on deaf ears - if you're still there, then they're paying you the market rate along with the other benefits you get of working there, otherwise you'll have left by now. That's how they'll see it. Put the effort in and at least get another offer to nudge in the right direction.

Talk to the partner you work for most. Just have a candid discussion about what you are thinking and why you think you deserve a raise

If you’re looking for money then make it show that you want it. Why should I give you more if I sense that “it’s not an ultimatum”? You’re also putting yourself on their radar, might as well go full in on it. Be prepared to bring data on why you think that salary makes sense, prepare a number you’re willing to throw out there. Going in with “I just think I deserve more” is a lost case. Bring numbers to back up your claim and also make sure your performance is in line with what you’re asking for.

You can get the raise by moving to another firm if you plan to stay in public, or jump to industry.

I’m making just under $55k. I haven’t had movement in my salary in around two years. My best work has come in the last two years, however, and my managers are aware of this. A promotion - god/holding company willing - is anticipated in 2021. I was told by a coworker in 2017 this next step in my career would be at $60k. That was then, though. With all of this in mind, am I out of touch to try and negotiate closer to $70k if need be?

I currently work at a big start up and made a lateral move to another team a few months ago with five years experience. Since then , I’ve created a whole new service line and took over many of my managers duties. As I took a paycut to join this team - I’m pushing for a raise and title change. Is this reasonable?

New to the Bowl, greetings to all. I have a question for the sales leaders in the group about the design of sales comp plans. We are in professional services and our customers are about 50:50 retained and project-based. Our BD process is very consultative, 99% of our leads are inbound. <more...>

Hello PM , to Be PM, There are lots of opening in market for PM role. If anyone struggling to get Job calls or stuck with PM related interview questions. I am happy to extend my hand, always love to exchange knowledge and experience. Do DM me in case of need.

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
