This happens, this isn’t the first time EY recruiting has dealt with this. Just be professional and call your recruiter.

Call them and explain the situation (instead of emailing). You be professional about it and however they react isn’t on you. And no, you wouldn’t owe anything.

You don't owe anyone for processing your clearance.

Turning down a job offer after you have already accepted it can be an uncomfortable experience. However, as long as you have not signed an employment contract with the company, you are legally allowed to change your mind. It's better to decline the offer than to quit shortly after taking the job. It's more expensive for the company to onboard you, then start over with a new candidate search.

Good evening!!

New to the group.

Guys. Has anyone got an offer from a company but later found another opening in the same company that is more relevant? What did you do in that case?

I have an offer from EY in their consulting division (risk). I recently came across an opening in their Strategy and Transactions service line now which seems more relevant and interesting. I know it is a unique situation :)

Better to stay at my current company, get additional role opportunities, and then make the switch later at a higher level? or make the jump now?
