I’m job hunting in Los Angeles, looking at a variety of titles (HRBP, Sr. HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director). I have 8 YOE and my SHRM-SCP. I reached my report limit on payscale.com, so I used a variety of other sites to price the roles (BLS, salary.com, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Robert Half). The problem I’m having is the huge inconsistencies between sources (there are $40k differences between some of the identified medians). (Continued…)
My company does a lunch time (camera on) on the first Friday of every month where we play games like Kahoot! and talk about other things besides work. It’s super fun! And it’s just enough to bond without being super overwhelming
That sounds really fun!! I wish my company would do something like this.
Check in meetings that are not only about work
I second Kahoot! We used it at my last job and people really enjoyed them. We would feature different people during each game so everyone could get to know people better. For example, we feature a few members of our DEI group, or a few members from the tax team. We also did virtual escape rooms, trivia, and wine tastings, to name a few. Activities help generate conversations and camaraderie vs the dreaded zoom happy hours where people just show up and stare at each other.
