Has Pe mega fund on cycle recruiting started yet? Heard rumors timelines may be slower this year due to covid...
Friend tested positive for covid… I was honestly annoyed more at the situation but now kind of annoyed at her bc she just is making the situation about herself when she is affecting everyone she could have exposed
Laid off due to covid and starting delivering food through UberEats. Do I still qualify for unemployment? I can’t find anything on this and calling is no use
I feel violated - stepdaughter asked me and my husband to ensure that we’re Covid free prior to traveling to visit her. I assured her we are vaccinated and limit contact with others. A few days later I learned she took her entire family to a sport event where people tested positive for Covid. It seems hypocritical.
We need to improve our ability to take care of people in their homes. COVID is a perfect use case, as better to have these folks avoid the hospital
F U Covid. You couldn’t even wait until the winter before harassing us again. I want the FULL hot male summer, not a shortened summer
Have anyone successfully negotiated down their rent due to Covid? I’m in NYC and my management has been very inflexible.
Trump confessed to Bob Woodward about the lethal danger of COVID in February. 7 full months later, he has a lead adviser in place with no infectious disease expertise.
Headed to a T2 this summer for my MBA internship. Thinking of rerecruiting for MBB in the fall. Anyone know how recruiting might look this year post-COVID? Thanks in advance!!
I’ve been in the same city for too long and want to move, but my agency is getting into a hybrid model. I feel like I missed the timeframe to jump cities during covid and need advice on how to navigate the conversation with my manager. Has anyone been able to do this recently without having to get a new job?
Secretly find COVID19 to be a good lesson for someone just starting their career- taught me to save up for a rainy day, cherish everything in life and stop taking “normal” things for granted 🙏
Despite our covid numbers going up, my district is starting in-person learning. I teach first grade and am scheduled to go back Dec 8th. We are using a "concurrent" model where we will be teaching both in person and online students simultaneously. Mondays will be planning days. Is anyone else doing this? What advice do you have to do this successfully without being totally exhausted?
My husband and I have concert tickets to a big outdoor festival that was cancelled for covid and is now happening in late August. His brothers and some college friends are flying in to stay with us. We just found out we're pregnant and I'll be 9 weeks by concert time. We aren't ready to tell anyone but we can't think how we can ask them to cancel without explaining. We are all vaccinated and are in SF so cases are low, but not zero. Any advice?
Are there any CDC restrictions preventing the administration of multiple COVID-19 vaccines? Had the J and J one-dose vaccine 6 months ago and tried to get the first of the Pfizer two-dose vaccine shots today and was turned away by both the NP and Pharmacist.
I do not want to go back to the office after coronavirus has stopped/reduced. My productivity has increased, my work quality has improved. Anyone else feeling the same way?
Can you get the delta variant if you already had covid? Vaccinated but been feeling sick with covid symptoms
How easy is it to switch offices (from one city to another) at your firm? Signed an offer pre-covid for an office across the country and now really wishing I could stay in place. (Start date was pushed back so I haven’t moved yet.)
My sisters coworker is a confirmed case of Covid - do I need to alert my own coworkers? (We live together which is why I’m worried but unsure of etiquette)
My brother just told me that he paid $400 to get a COVID test and he has insurance…is that not wild? I thought COVID tests were all free or fully covered by insurance. This was back in like Feb/March
We have a trip to Miami planned in two weeks. Just saw that Florida is averaging 20,000 cases day of mostly the delta variant. Super bummed as we’re both vaccinated and hopefully was going to get away, but looks like we may have to change plans. 😭
Sunday scaries...want to hear how everyone gets ready for the grind on Mondays, especially with meetings that start at 8:00 am. I hate taking away from family time Sunday nights. I’m struggling with WLB, especially with the “always on” culture and constant client asks/deadlines.
Anyone at McK Implementation willing to chat about their experiences with the firm and provide a referral? Thanks!
What do you do to make the work week suck less? Treat yourself in the middle of the week? Need ideas
How is the culture at Deloitte NYC office (tax)? I am applying for positions and hear it is "cold/unfriendly" culture; is this true?
Just got fired (freelancer) for being sick.
Just got my annual bonus.. looking to splurge on an espresso machine. Does anyone have any recommendations on specific models, auto vs semi auto? And my budget is $500-$1500
When it’s your second week on the project and the client is already asking if you’d accept a job offer from them 💁🏻♀️🙌
Best way to blow Bonvoy points on a 1 night stay in Honolulu? Considering Ritz, Royal Hawaiian and Moana Surfrider. Any good experiences?
I’d be a lifetime platinum / diamond member of every hotel chain globally if the number of same / similar SPG/Marriott posts here were linked to my name....
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
Have offer at interesting late stage startup, 135k base 15k bonus and approx 20-25k in stock grants annually. Feels a bit on the low side but it's a decent raise in any case (7 years consulting xp plus MBA). Worth negotiating for 5-10k more in base?
Hi there!! Trying to help out a friend who unfortunately found herself out of work. Does anyone know about any potential marketing jobs? She has experience in food marketing and financial/bank marketing. She’s located in Chicago and is open to Chicago or remote work. Many thanks!!
@mbb folks, I’m matriculating to a target school this fall and doing the early access programs. Should I be reaching out to the current employees that host the sessions or is that overkill? I figure that these sessions have a ton of people, though I don’t want to waste potential networking opportunities
Tax savvy people, i have questions. my employer reduced everyones salary during the first 6 months of covid, but offered a “bonus” (aka back to normal rate) if you were required to travel during this time. How will the temporary salary cut + travel bonus affect my filing? Idk I’m feeling petty
Should I open a 529 or a taxable brokerage account? Might go get an MBA down the line, but also would hopefully be with a company that would pay for it.
If wfh becomes the norm I’m saying fuck it and living that vanlife full time. What do you guys think?
Last year I lost a good job to Covid-19, so I had to take a job with the first company that offered me employment. I wanted to make it work but my boss is tyrannical and overbearing. I’m miserable working there. My question is: how I conceal my disgust while working with this person? What techniques can I put in place to handle his micro aggressions, while I find something better? Books, articles, ideas? It might take me a long while to find something else and I need to keep my cool.
