I’m currently working at a T2 and have recently applied to all three MBB’s at the consultant level- each for the NYC office. I’ve been rejected at the resume stage for all three and not sure what went wrong. I have an M7 MBA, good work experience, and applied with a referral each time. I’ve also had folks from each company look over my resume to ensure quality. Is it because I’m applying only the NYC office that my resume is getting dinged? Feeling so incredibly disheartened.

Does MBB in Canada hire experienced folks or do people usually come in after a Masters/ MBA? Also do you need strong quant + excel skills to make it into MBB?

Hello! I will be attending an unranked B-school in London this fall. I chose the school for a handful of reasons (family, time, program, budget) and even before I have determined that I want to become an MBB consultant post MBA.

I have a final round with HR director. Is this a thing and what am I to expect. It’s a big company.

I’m on a new account that has male clients and the other agency leaders are male. I was in a meeting where we arrived in masks but they decided it wasn’t necessary to wear masks since we were all vaccinated. I have stayed masked internally at meetings but I was caught off guard by how the client dynamic influenced me to take mine off when I preferred to keep on. I looked up the stats and men are less likely to wear masks and more likely to find them off putting. Anybody else running into this?

I work for a small company in a role I kind of fell into (and I am lucky for that). My team is great, they have their issues like any team and the job is pretty flexible, but I really don’t like what I do and I don’t see a a future unless I want to grow in supply chain. I have a final interview at another company in a sales roll, not a dream job but the team is great (have a friend who used to be on this team) and it’s at a huge company with TONS of opportunities (continued in comments)

I already accepted a great offer from a B4, but am being pursued by another B4, and told them what my offer was and they said they can beat it if I pass the interviews. Should I go through the interviewing process? Or just stick to the first offer I got?

Does anyone work all 7 days a week? I don’t mean all day during the weekend, but a couple of hours each. I feel that I am slow at work, so unless I work on every holiday, I can’t go beyond the bare minimum expectations

PTO means time off.

Not kind of time off. Not "hey could you do this one thing for me". Not "trying to save the client money so use your PTO but you'll be working". Not "let's turn everything into an emergency so they have to work".

How difficult is it to move into IB if you get into a Top 15 business school, but don’t have a finance background? In my case, my background is in B4 implementation work.
