Fact that you posted a message with "Go", disqualifies you from any meaningful career. I suggest applying for mannequin at a thrift store
Step 1 - Get interview invite through referral from someone at target firm
Step 2 - Rock case / partner interviews
Step 3 - Accept offer
Also chose firm carefully. At PwC the director level is a snake-pit and directors hide projects from each other.
You could also come in as PL. Case by case decision after interviews are done. No level promises earlier in the process.
Case in point is not a good book in my eyes. Victor Cheng more helpful. Key thing is practice with real people.
MBA, Extension Certificate
MBA as of last 3 years

Thx BCG 1, any suggestions on step 2 BCG frameworks prep ?
PWC 1, care to elaborate? Any other significant nuances between the director/principal level at PWC vs MBB and how those play into the jump experience ?
If you like Strategy, then referral is the best way. If you like overseeing implementation, check out McKinsey's Sr. Implementation Coach roles.
OP if you're only 3 years post MBA I doubt you'd come in as a manager (Project Leader, Principal, Partner) at BCG regardless of total years of experience. Seems more likely you'd still only get a fast-tracked Consultant offer (meaning you'd have to prove yourself in staff roles for a year before becoming a Project Leader). We want to make sure you can cut it and learn the culture before we put you in charge of teams. But I could definitely be wrong. I agree a referral is key though.
Become a partner. Get a good book of business. Then come in as a principal at Bain.
Op: if you are very young, 1-2 yrs out of college you can get in without networking. Otherwise need an MBA.
15 years experience between banking and consulting, Finished MBA 3 years ago. So, best strategy for a higher up move (principal/director levels)
@ D1, good thing I am not interested in (D&D ) your thrift store. Move along....
You have 15 yrs work ex and you are asking suggestions on FB? You want to jump to a partner at MBB and you are asking for case study tips? You should have been rocking, selling, have a brand that MBB or any firm would welcome.
"Case in Point" is a controversial one.. Some people love it, others hate it. I found it very insightful for PwC. Would like to hear an MBB perspective on the book.
D1, educate yourself, principal at BCG not = to partner. Now go play in your little world.
BCG 2 thx. MBA is a recent acquisitions, have MS in a quant field from 10 is years ago
Op try practicing face to face with real people who challenge you. That is the best way to approach the case.
