What does it mean that I’ve never watched any of those listed? Where is “The Office”?

Omg ew what a bunch of geezers if I had to talk about Seinfeld I’d fall asleep mid conversation, my tip is to stock up on the casual WW2 anecdotes and maybe one or two interesting Great Depression narratives

My current partner is 34, not sure Cheers is the right reference

Of course this turns into a "I'm so young for my level" self-congratulatory thread. 🙄

Where is "Married with Children". The best show ever.

like

I'm with D1...should replace HIMYM with The Office. Interesting idea tho!

I’m a partner, but relate more to Seinfeld and Friends. This list doesn’t relate to younger partners or people that entered consulting later in life

If someone came up to me and struck a conversation about Cheers I would run for the exits.

I watched all of those and I'm 35...

I think the latest Netflix originals are also good references to bring up. I’ve talked about it with Director and VP level folks in industry. Neat idea!

I’d the say the office is more applicable to networking with mid level clients at one of those client happy hours. The Christmas Party episodes come to mind...

funny

I’m pretty sure friends and Seinfeld ran at the same time

like

My director watches more Netflix series than me and I had to play catch-up lol

D3, disagree. Cheers was popular when I was young, I just didn’t like the show. Seinfeld and Friends were popular among multiple age groups.

💯👍

Good approach I like it. Second the Seinfeld references for both senior managers and younger partners.

On point

For pretty much anyone at the M to Partner level, just ask them about the financial crisis or dotcom bubble. They all will have a bunch of stories to talk about

Hi, How many of you were successful using "taking cara baby" (especially for newborn's sleep)? You can just say "me" or "not me" if you are busy. I am deciding if I should buy the course. Things are getting better on week 4, but it's not good and the hours between 6 and 10 pm are awful.

Should we move to a cheaper city like Phoenix so we have a big house for cheap and 2 home offices. Am I missing anything?

I’m in second trimester. I just came from my grandfather’s funeral, outside. My aunt was around her 2 siblings last week that had Covid and she hasn’t been vaxed. She hugged me and mom (4 weeks from her last chemo session) and only told us about her siblings after. I’m so mad. I guess I’m just venting but the potential complications for the baby, me, and my mom make me worry. Any comforting words?

Can someone smarter than me explain the mechanics of the child tax credit in the America Rescue Plan? If I qualify for monthly installments of the credit but fill out my W4 so my withholding is as close as possible to my tax liability, shouldn’t the credit installments effectively be offset by an increase in fed withholding so that my take home pay is the same as if I claimed the credit on an annual return? I know there is an increase in the credit, but I’m focusing on logistics.
