Spent 4+ years as CMO of startup company. It was an incredible learning experience but also a very difficult uphill battle trying to steer the owners and the company in the right direction. I’ve just exited the company as of 11/18. The owners expected to storm the marketplace and emerge as a number one brand at only 6 years old without putting in the work.Company had a very hard time understanding the concept of a unique value proposition. Giving them notice is necessary. Giving a reason isn't. Just creates risk that you'll have to do further justification if your next actions don't seem to match up with the reason you give (which can all be perception). " Thank you for your time. I need to withdraw my application."
