Do you have status? I get very good service with the platinum line and have had a lot of luck with them giving me miles to compensate for delays, sitting next to fat people, plane smelling like shit, etc. Be very polite, acknowledge your loyalty to delta, and say that you've always had a good experience with them so you're very surprised this happened.
Also understand whether it’s airlines fault, or weather/something beyond the airlines’s control. For example, Monday morning delta delays were more than likely due to power outage. Hard to truly fault delta for that one and they’d likely push back if asked for comp.
Blow them up
Delta.com or call the diamond line
will most likely not give you compensation...just a very apoligetic call
im a Delta Diamond... I think asking for miles because you sit next to a fat person is a little petty no?
A1 - yes. Petty.
If you charge a customer for one seat and he/she legitimately occupies >1 seat, take care of the affected customer who also paid for one seat and was only able to use ~0.5 and was unreasonably physically uncomfortable for two hours on your plane. They did it and I'm sure I wasn't the first. I don't mind sitting next to bigger people, but when he/she is spilling over the armrest and I can't sit without noticeably leaning to the other side the entire flight, it's a different story.
