Agree. And also ask for attorneys at the firm to refer you internally too. They get a bonus and you get a higher chance of firm actually reading it. (I just submitted one for someone, so let me know if you’re interested too)

Another idea is to talk to a recruiter who works with those firms. I know a lot of recruiters are hot garbage, but there are some of us that genuinely have great relationships with certain firms and can get your materials seen.

Good recruiters also know which firms might have a stronger need at any given moment and they absolutely can make sure your resume is seen where going on your own would get it thrown into a pile that is never seriously reviewed.
Not everyone should work with a recruiter, but they can bring a lot of utility for a lot more than just the top candidates.
