Referrals seem to have the upper hand so I figured advertising myself is worth a shot. Recent M.A grad currently based in atl, but looking to move to nyc. If anyone needs a jr. strategist or ae and would like to see my resume/portfolio, send me a note at a104352@aup.edu ! I can pinky promise to be a very enthusiastic and hard-working team member :)
**since this is still the only bowl I can post to, please feel free to spread the word if you want**
I have an offer from Walmart but I'm also interviewing at Meta. I'm midway through the Meta process but there's still a long way to go and I don't want to rush through it unprepared. Both are for a Data Scientist position. Any suggestions on how to deal with a situation like this? Walmart Facebook (Meta)
Desperate attempt to get an EY summer internship referral. I’m an MS student with 2yoe as a Tech Consultant at Deloitte. The deadline for the summer internships is next week and would appreciate any help I can get🤞🏽
I still cant access my DM’s so please email me dimhara0@gmail.com if you feel like helping a desperate student out:)
How do you navigate getting a referral on a platform like this? Genuinely curious on if HR/Recruiting asks how you know the person you're referring, or if they don't care where the referral comes from.
Really interested in a junior PM role at Razorfish. A close friend currently works for a different Publicis org, so not sure if a referral from them would mean anything.

Do some market research and give those estimates? Sites like Glassdoor may be a bit inflated but that’s at least a starting point. Or flip the script and ask what they have budgeted for the role. But whatever your first ask is, give a range that’s slightly higher than what you’re looking for.
Try not to throw out the first number.
Just respond with a question instead of answering. I like the "what would you offer someone with my skills/training etc." Once you have a number from them it's easier to begin the negotiation process.
Best way to negotiate is to not negotiate for the sake of negotiating... Do your research of what the market averages are for the role and level of seniority you're targeting. Understand what you are able to bring to the table, what sets you apart from the average person looking to do this job, and be ready to articulate that with the HM/recruiter. Use competing offers/interviews as leverage. I have very little respect for people who BS their salary expectations inflating them upwards of 150%+ of what they'd actually be comfortable with, simply for the sake of being able to "meet in the middle" or "leave room for negotiation" - this is more common than you would think, it is easy to spot, and the people who do this just come across as goofs.
don’t negotiate. say that you would like to focus on the job first and learning and then wait for them to say first.
