I faced issue multiple times, when all the interview rounds were clear and HR offering too less than the expected salary even though all the discussion happened before scheduling the interview.

They asked to upload all the documents on the portal and at the end of whole process they are not going to provide near about expected CTC.

Advice to young lawyers. Read a book.

I saw the thread about savings and many young lawyers (20s and 30s) don’t know how to open up a brokerage account or invest in their 401k. I know they don’t teach personal finance in school (though they should!), but my advice is that you should go to your local library and read a book about the subject. You have the skills necessary but you must invest in yourself. No one will look out for you.

How long is it appropriate to sit on an offer from a firm before giving an answer. This firm made me an offer sooner than I expected, and I’m trying to check their references (talk to anyone I know who knows anyone that has worked there) and now they’re giving my recruiter pasig aggressive notes about how long I’m taking and saying they’ve been “very patient”….it’s been a week.

Getting really frustrated with my job. Im by far the busiest associate my year level, and there are 2 people in my group who literally have no work at all. I feel like I keep missing targets and the partners are disappointed in me, but it’s hard to motivate when I see others not doing anything. I know I should be grateful bc the partners think I’m better than the others (and job security) but I can’t seem to convince myself to care.

Any tips/tricks for the UBE, particularly the MEE or MPT portions? I did a couple practice MPTs but largely ignored it because most samples are simplified work tasks (memos, letters, whatnot). What did you do for MPT prep? Was it sufficient?

How would you compare the UBE to a state-specific exam (like Florida or California) in terms of difficulty?

How do you bill for a project when your constantly getting distracted by other matters, calls, emails etc. I’m honestly just estimating what it should have taken.

So I accepted my offer from a new firm (where I am getting a 30k increase + benefits) and gave my two weeks yesterday but my boss was shocked. She wants to give me a counter offer tomorrow but ultimately told me she cannot give me the benefits the new firm is offering (health, dental, vision insurance, unl. PTO, 401k matching).
