BETT!! Flexed my negotiation skills and negotiated a 80% increase from my current base salary (not counting bonus, commission or RSUs). Posting for inspiration to others. I used to read this thread thinking people were over exaggerated their pay bumps but it’s real y’all!!

Appearently this is an unpopular opinion, but does it really matter the exact numbers? Person has 80% more money coming into their bank at the end of the day. That is a huge change to their financial situation and kudos to them.

like

Of course it matters. You can get a 300% raise by going from college intern to $60k base first year out of college. 300% is 300% but nobody is going to put any weight into the advice that person gives. I pulled off $61k to $117k 1 year out of college and $135k to $230k last month at 4 YOE so this thread is pretty much a larp to me until OP shares some real numbers, but clearly they aren't impressive otherwise he would have already shared them

Large % base increase isn't impossible, but suggests you were either dramatically underpaid before or have a niche skill, both situations which won't really help the average reader. Source: 67% base pay increase going to industry bc I was dramatically underpaid at ACN

You go girl!

like

I actually didn’t know. I just wanted to say “You go girl” because it’s better than “Great job buddy”

like

I’d like to say a few things to those commenting: 1. Words of encouragement and general curiosity questions - THANK YOU! I’m more than willing to help those who come at me correct. Feel free to private DM me. 2. Making assumptions my post is false, or I have lied are really not appreciated. I worked my ass off - harder than any peer I worked with - and it’s paying off. My exit opp is MORE than well deserved and my negotiation tactics were effective. 3. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone- even while I’m on anonymous mode. I’ll divulge information that I want, but not as a result of bullying or pushing me into a corner by accusing me of lying. My one ask: Please be respectful. Wish everyone the best of luck on their search. Thanks.

like

Seeing as how OP ghosted this thread, probably a lie

like

Bs 80% increase unless you lied lol

likefunny

Let me ask you - as you go through interviews do you disclose what you make to the hiring manager? If you do, that’s where you fail immediately. Not cool to assume I would lie anywhere in my application or through the process. I worked my ass off for this FYI! thanks tho

like

Yes please elaborate on what you did, where you were and where you’re going!

Seems kinda risky to over shoot, no? Overshoot too much they may just blow you off?

Details or gtfo

Can you share some pointer?? Will be beneficial

like

How did this work? Was this a negotiation to stay at your current job? Or did you attempt an exit, and then negotiated for a better salary at your exit op, with an 80% difference relative to your original Accenture salary?

like

I should clarify: this is an exit opp. Base pay increase is 80% from what I’m currently making to what my new base pay will be.

like

These posts really do not help without details. Going from 70k to 125k is very different than going from 150k to 270k. Congrats on the new base OP, but I find it so odd when people aren’t willing to share details (even rough estimates) with this bowl.

like

This OP sounds very kind. I’m sure if you A - asked or B - messaged they’d respond. The way they worded everything I feel very comfortable that if I did DM them they’d totally talk about anything because they are genuinely trying to send good vibes out and encouragement .

Congratulations OP 🎊

like

Thank you!!

If they ask you what you make, respond by asking their range. Then ask for more!!

like

Exactly!

Yes! Please elaborate!

Congrats! What is your new base

Congrats Op! Ignore the naysayers!
