M&A in general as you’ll have way more exit opps. The exits opps for funds are usually pretty limited

Hi all! I’m an engineer working in the global health space and I’m finding it’s a small, small pool. I also just found out that a new hire (male, also an engineer) is the reason I got a raise after ~5 years of stagnancy. I love my job, but it’s time to move on. Anyone who’s worked in nonprofit spaces - did you stay? Did you switch to consulting/government/etc or go corporate? I’ve been applying without much response, and I’m debating whether a PMP very or masters is going to be necessary.

I have the basic understanding of devops tools and public cloud like azure, gcp, aws.

Can someone please refer me for a suitable role within their organization?

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

Hi fishies! Considering an internal big 4 move from Western Europe to Dubai. Not sure about WLB and whether there’ll be enough growth and learning opportunities after reading some of the threads here. Anyone up for sharing their experience? Especially concerned about sexism / racism as a WOC…and whether moving back to Europe in a few years will be difficult because the ME experience won’t be considered valuable.

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

On the flip side, I don't want to miss the window on the second position while waiting to hear back...thoughts?

What percentage of associates meet the billable hours requirement at your firm?

Anyone else just sitting around waiting for the ax to drop? I'm a soon to be 2nd year corporate associate who has seen work completely dry up. My utilization held pretty steady around 50% immediately after shutdown, but August was below 15 billables with no appreciable work in the pipeline. Aside from letting people know I'm available and doing pro-bono/CLE, it's starting to feel like a serious "covidcation" leading to termination.

He doesn’t regularly check in on what I’m working on. Mid-level here. Has anyone gotten their firm to approve their doing work at a deep discount and, if so, what strategies did you use? A potential client approached me directly about a small matter (~20 to 30 hr amicus brief). The potential client (gov’t) pays a standard rate ~40% lower than mine, but I want to take on the project because it would be a good professional opportunity (e.g., high profile case & client) and of course the lower rate won’t affect my comp directly. 🤷‍♀️ All advice welcome!
