Big 4 audit graduate (private equity audit) looking to move in to deal advisory once qualified.
I’m trying to decide between an internal move to corporate finance or transaction services. Anyone have any advice over this move, both short term and long term? Are there any downsides to either? Or downsides to staying in big 4?

I started my first in-house role about 4 months ago and I don’t think it’s the right fit. I love the no billable hours aspect, but otherwise I miss the structure of being at a firm. How long do you think I should try to stick this out before I move on? I want to give the job a real shot - and i know the transition to in-house can be jarring…but I also don’t want to spend too much time in a job that is a wrong fit.

I’m thinking of leaving tax compliance and going into tax transformation and technology (at a different firm because internal transfers are messy and don’t get a pay bump). How would that look to future companies and would that cause me to burn bridges at my current one?
