$1k well being subsidy, generally better pay than KPMG, that’s about it. Still just big 4 experience at the end of the day.

Yes, due to perceived prestige.

Are you starting before 11/12? You should be eligible for the huge retention bonus

Don’t take less than 25k

OP, what practice are you in?

I came from KPMG to D. I find the people here to take work much more seriously. For me personally, that’s not a good or bad thing. The level of precision was higher than I was accustomed to so I had an adjustment period for sure.

Yes, less nights and weekends with family/friends. Deloitte makes up completely useless firm contributions.

Non-US / UK consulting partners - I have been long following the posts here. What I realise is that the US partners feel very strongly that being a B4 partner is best opportunity once could have (maybe just followed by FAANG). With the $1M+ pay and a pension, potentially it makes a lot of sense. With no pensions and some of start ups, Tech companies paying more in other countries, global roles (vs local focus) - what are your views about considering opportunities outside B4

Would B4 care if I work two jobs? Went through several interviews with EY and forgot to mention that in addition to my regular full time job, I am also an instructor in the evenings. The instructor role is part time and very flexible in scheduling and not my priority. Just wondering if failing to mention or putting this job on my application will effect anything

Currently Audit senior 2 looking to transfer to advisory. Exploring some internal advisory roles as well as external roles with mid sized firms - looking for advice on Big 4 advisory vs. with a mid sized firm? Personally I feel like I would get more exposure to different projects/clients at a mid sized firm, where at big 4 would prob be pigeoned holed in a specific niche sector/industry with little flexibility to try other things. Im currently on h1 status due for extension. My current h1 petition includes my client details that I no longer work for - what happens if I go for stamping? Also, how long can an individual not get stamped w/o raising any red flags? Don’t want to go now unnecessarily and get stuck

Advice on holding/selling: I started investing last year, mostly in index funds but also in ETFs of sectors I believe most in (renewables, hydrogen, biotech). These of course did great then terrible… I still think there will be huge investment in these in coming years but now understand how overvalued they were when I got in. Is it worth holding on despite 20-30 percent losses, or are even worse times ahead/will get eaten up by fees? Lesson learned to not overindex on growth…
