Big 4 FDD > MBA?

1) I’ve heard FDD really helps on MBA application, wondering how much this is true? 2) goal: IB

like

Yes it is good idea, since pure audit or tax experience is useless for IB and TAS is a step in their direction. Will need an MBA unless you are targeting boutiques that will take u on big4 tas alone

like

lol the way you phrased that question isn’t what it implies in your comment. Yes, I know a number of people with FDD who landed in decent programs. Obviously other things such as your GMAT score also matter quite a bit.

like

I know a few people who were in TAS at a big 4, got their MBA and then went IB. I know a few that went TAS straight to PE without and MBA

like

The PE people were to a small boutique firm, that firm employees a few former TAS people. That was in NYC

TAS straight to PE? Assuming smaller shops, wouldn’t mind doing something similar myself

like

Obviously the answer to your question depends on your goals. Context, people.

Are companies looking to hire more minorities and people who identify as LGBTQ+? I saw a post about a job listing for a Big 4 and it said it had a strong preference for people who identify as LGBTQ+ or a minority racial group. Does this mean they have a higher chance of getting the job? Not trying to start any political debates, I’m just generally curious.

I’m an incoming AC1 at Bain and I have spent the summer studying a bit for the GMAT since we had a stipend. I took it with no practice and received a 640. After studying on an off for a couple of months I received a 690. I’m likely going to cancel the score since I realize it isn’t enough for M7. To provide some more insight on my profile. I graduated undergrad from UofM BBA Magna Cum Laude, have interned in Big 4 consulting, IB, and VC, and I’m an Asian-American. What should I do?
