Is it normal for industry fund accounting roles to restrict investments in all covered securities? Here I was thinking big 4 restricted too much...
How is attrition/relative happiness at the MBBs compared to Big 4/the rest nowadays? It seems as though the lion’s share of complaint posts on here and Reddit come from Big 4 consultants, specifically around the topics of attrition and issues with their firms, teams, or projects. Does MBB seem quieter because it’s better there, or are the disgruntled MBBers just not as loud as Big 4 folks? McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
For 401k, Deloitte contributes 25 cents for every 1 dollar we contribute. Its matched upto 6% of our salary. How is it other big 4?
Google TC evaluation for a TPgM in Bay area for L5: Base - $175k RSU - $190k (4yrs) Annual Bonus - $15% Sign-on - TBD Currently M at B4, on deck for SM promo in July with 14 YoE in cybersecurity, tech, full stack dev, and SaaS. I’m aiming for $275k/equity if I can get there for a TC of 450k - this is based on levels, recent news of Googlers not being happy with salary/TC, and aiming high and meeting somewhere in the middle 🤞🏼 Thoughts on TC? And how to approach sign-on $ Thank you all!
I got call from HR of one of Big 4 firm. She had such an irritating tone for a HR. When I told my expected CTC, she went on to persuade me to quote lower number since they don't have budget. I even came down to a point since I wanted to get Big 4 Opportunity. She kept on saying a number which was not even 15% of my current package. Finally, she said she's not going to process the profile with an almighty attitude. Such an arrogant tone from Big 4 HR. I wonder this MNCs have idiots as HRs
I'm a risk manager with 8 years of experience in banking. If I wanted to jump into the consulting world for new experiences, are there opportunities in the Big 4 that have partial work life balance, or would I be better off in a smaller global consulting firm (ie. Accenture)?
Is Accounting really worth it on the long term? I noticed a lot of people are ok with their salary but not necessarily in terms of WLB. I wasn’t informed very well when I used to be a student, but now it seems a lot of others paths and career suggest a great salary for a 40-45hr work week. What are your thoughts ?
Anyone move from a Big 4 to Big 3? How long were you at Big 4 before moving? And how’d you manage the transition?
How is the Business Operations (BO) team at ZS? Particularly at AC level. I have couple of more questions: 1. WLB as I have heard is pretty pathetic at ZS. Is it same in BO team as well? 2. Salary range for the AC role? (I have 3+ years of experience post MBA, before MBA 0 years, transitioning from big 4) 3. Any on-site opportunities? 4. How are other perks at the organisation? (Apart from fixed pay)
Thought's on KPMG Singapore? Heard the work-life balance is comparatively better than other Big 4 but pay might be slightly less. How long should one ideally stay before leapfrogging?
How to look for opportunities in Dubai from UK? 6 YOE, B4 5 years, Boutique since, programme management / tech transformation background. M level in B4 and boutique & quick promos. Have heard consulting salaries can be peanuts, open to industry roles - no MBA which looks like a block to M level roles at B4/MBB in ME
Pros and cons of working in a smaller city at a Big 4 (say Bristol) as compared to London? Rent is obviously cheaper but salary is also lower? Is it worth being in a smaller city or is London the place to be? Work visa is currently in progress...
Can anyone provide input on Grant Thornton’s SALT practice? Considering leaving Big 4 SALT for GT, but want to gather more input before making a decision.
Hi everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying their audit/tax season. I’m going into my 4th year as an audit partner. Let’s say the firm is in the top 5-10 range. Comp is $365k (draw plus distributions). Haven’t had comp discussions this year, but historically, it’s been 50-60k increases YOY. I’m sure this is under Big 4 salary levels, but for any National accounting firm partners, wanted to get thoughts. Thanks!

Any success stories or advice on transitioning from industry to public (Tax)? I have only worked in large MNCs and I have experience in international/fed/provision. I am really curious if I should entertain the possibility of taking a role with a public accounting firm (B4/GT/BDO) or if it is "naïve" to expect that working for a firm will meet my expectations for manageable hours and a reasonable (predictable) schedule.

That awesome moment when a consultant in your project doesn't know how to create a stacked bar graph....
First year analyst, 10th week on the bench. Too stressed...😞. Stressed while on a project and while off one. #StressedForever #Consulting
New senior flies in a day late, busts into the room with no apologies, and tells me (the only minority & female in the room) that I should get the coffee before the manager comes. I'm the manager. 😏
Read the damn EO before flipping your shit. Jesus.. get educated before you act like the world is ending. Do you all not have a mind of your own?
Help 😳 manager in FS finishing my mba in June. Want to go into mgmt consulting next. How hard will it be to make the move w/o experience in mgmt consulting? Do I have to be a senior again? Salary? 🤔

Dear Partner1, is making partner kind of like going into high school? According to your old friends back in middle school, you have "made it". Older kids think you're just a 9th grader newbie
Just interviewed a potential resource (level 9 consultant) for a role on my project. Client was present and noticed the person was very likely being coached during the interview. My Sr Mgr and I...
Do you ever tip 20% or more for dine in?
Client's Christmas gift came early this year. Two months of analysis is invalid, we hit reboot on everything. #ho ho everybody.
WTH do advisory people do? Have some on my initiative work that can't make a slide to save their life... Lower hiring standards? Different skill set?
Is it unreasonable to ask someone from PT timezone to follow ET hours for 1 month during critical phase of the project? To be specific.. starting 9AM ET. Work day typically gets over at 6p ET or sooner sometimes, and this person makes it such a big deal and makes it sound like they are doing team a favor.
For those of you who are engaged/married - do you wear your engagement ring to work? I got engaged over the break, and feel like wearing my ring to client site might not be the best idea.
