1:00 pm: Meet with my senior
2:00 pm: Attend team planning meeting
3:00 pm: Have mental breakdown at desk
4:00 pm: Smile for meeting with partner

So today was my first day on a stimulant (diagnosed as an adult), and everyone says its suppose to feel like *boom* magic, or normal (?) , I guess. Knowing that is figurative, what should I actually be expecting? I feel mostly the same, I think, though I came in and actually did started my work today. But I mean, somedays I do that...I just don't want to psyche myself out if I'm expecting too much. Or pscyhe myself in if I actually might not be experiencing what I should.

Have had a history of anxiety and depression, flared up again in the past few weeks. Went to my Psychiatrist and explained that I’m really struggling and want to take STD from work to get things under control, esp. since work causes most of the anxiety. He said he can only approve 2 weeks, I was looking for longer - any advice?

Well, got my annual physical, and I have high blood pressure, just shy of hypertension. I work out, eat very healthy and I’m fairly young. I think the likely culprit is the stress of producing because they found no other health reasons that would cause it.

Has anyone else in the bowl dealt with HBP related to work stress? If so, was there anything you did that helped address it? As stressful as it is, I love producing, and I don’t like the idea of leaving the field if I can manage it.

Just for fun - how did you get in to HR?

I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, but in college (as a psych major) I randomly got a work study job in the HR office and enjoyed it. Graduated in 2009 when finding a job was impossible and wanted to continue in HR but ended up in payroll for a few years. Finally got an HR admin role with payroll duties, and have since worked my way up and dropped the payroll duties along the way (thankfully 😂)

Has anybody ever left their job to study the CPA or another professional exam full time? If so, could you share your experience and how you were able to re-enter the workforce later? I am thinking about it. Married so could probably survive financially. Would appreciate warnings as well if it is a bad idea. Would prefer to just move out of Big 4, but also don’t want to take a job I will leave within a year. I just feel I’d personally do better studying full time. Some can juggle not me tbh.

I have accepted an offer for BA3 band for 10 LPA (46% hike). Is this a good offer or was I low balled ? Wanted to know as this is my first switch so I cannot judge if this is a good offer or not.
I had communicated my expected salary of 11 LPA (fixed) during negotiations for which HR said she would have to ask the concerned team. I then said that I am willing to negotiate and was offered 10. Was this wise or should I have waited ?

I’ve been in my current role for less than a year and within my first 6 months multiple managers left as well as my hiring manager and multiple developers on a team I manage. I was kind of thrown to the wolves which is fine but recently another manager was just hired in the next pay grade who is walking into a much better position. Worst part is my new manager didn’t even know my title wasn’t the next level. When do I bring up that I feel I should be moved to the next level as well?
