Decent profile and 80k pay at a big 4 or shitty profile and 140k pay in the industry? In either cases getting no where!!!
Damn y’all weren’t kidding. 50% bump from Big 4 to FAANG for Ops manager role, 6 YOE, 135k to 220k TC. Thank you all for the inspiration!
I'd like to make more money (current 85k) by leaving to some of these industry jobs I'm being reached out to about, but wouldn't have a game plan for the period after because at some point I'd want even more money. Is it best to try: Current -> Industry -> boomerang OR Current -> Industry -> Industry OR Current -> Big 4 -> Big 4/Industry

Currently an A2. I’m on track for senior promotion 7/1. If you had the opportunity to switch big 4 firms and be a senior now, would you take it?
Can anyone briefly explain why so many CPAs go into executive search/headhunter roles? I feel like that has to be such a saturated market. And there are a billion staffing firms. Do they make good money?? I have zero interest in it. I’m just curious about the appeal to that over industry accounting…or literally anything else besides hounding burned out B4 auditors on linked in day in and day out.
Am trying to switch into tech transformation or strategy from implementation, as it aligns more with my experience. Anyone able to give a referral to another Big 4 who has this offering??
In MC do I switch to big 4 strategy consulting or do internal strategy in industry? Lost on what to do
Why are the Big 4 considered to be the best places to work and best consulting firms? Other than prestige and brand I don’t understand why they’re consistently rated and regarded so highly
Which schools should I target with a 730 gmat, 3.6 gpa with a business degree from a top 20-25 university, and 3 years experience at big 4 in management consulting? I’m also a white male.
Hello! HR Business Partner looking to pivot into Human Capital, any advice/best practices? I have almost seven years of experience, Masters in HRM,SHRM certified and previously worked at B4 firm.... No consulting experience so seeking advice on how to break into HC consulting. Thanks!
Working as Consultant at Cognizant Business Consulting now, I am being offered a role of Senior Business Analyst as a contractor for 1yr, initially for 6 months in Deloitte IN. I am a bit skeptical with this Contractor thing. Can someone guide me please? They say I don't have prior Big 4 consulting experience and hence this role.
Do you or are you someone that went from PA (specifically Big 4) to Google? That’s the industry job I want to go to after about 5 years in PA. How did PA help you? (I want to stay in account./fin.)
I was at Big 4 consulting for a year before lateraling to ACN recently. It’s been about 6 months at ACN. Now I have an industry offer for Product Manager, which has been my eventual goal. Would it be too soon to jump? Or should I stick around for better exits in a couple of years may be? I’m worried the frequent changes won’t look good on my resume 4 YOE overall, TC at Product Manager is about 20-25k > ACN.
Had the weirdest call with someone from an offshore team… are offshore folks allowed to work for two Big 4 companies at the same time?
Hi Fishes, Could you help me to know what are the options we have after working as Big 4 Auditor (asset management sector) if we want to switch and no longer interested in Audit?
For those who have recently switched from consulting to industry, what kind of joining bonus are you seeing? It will help if you can state your old position to new position and the joining bonus.
How is airline comp for delays calculated? My flight was delayed like 90 min and I got a $50 voucher out of Delta. But now I’m stuck on the tarmac in line another hour.
What’s up with these consultants from some of these Big 4 firms messaging me for a “business opportunity to earn additional income”? Sounds like the pitch for a pyramid scheme, yes?
What's the compensation for Directors at PwC DDV? And how is your life as a Director in the practice?
I’m freelancing at an agency and there’s a chance I’ll have to WFH a few hours over the holidays. Would it be weird/rude to charge x1.5 or x2 my rate cause it’s normally time off?
Hi Fishies, I am looking for a job change and need referrals. I have ~5 yrs of experience in consulting most of it in data analytics, data strategy, business strategy, business operations. Also MBA from premier B school. Thanks in advance! JPMorgan Chase
I haven't had enough stuff to hit 40 min hrs a week....should I just charge the time to admin? I'm on the client, but not doing anyway cos I'm waiting for support...
The twitter CEO’s base salary is $1million (plus bonus RSUs upto 150% of that). The google CFO’s base is $1million (plus some RSUs I’m sure) and here I am thinking a 3-4th year EY Partner or 1-2nd year MBB partner would probably make that much base? But making partner (as hard as it is) has to be much easier than being a C level exec in tech? What am I missing here :/
Any pharma or biotech opportunity for a MD with Healthcare and Life Sciences Management Consulting & industry experience? Majority of experience in business development and alliance management roles within precision medicine and real world data analytics working directly with big pharma. Look forward to hearing back.
Folks that exited from Big 4 to MBB: do you regret it? Despite moving to a great firm like McK, having second thoughts about the decision due to the long hours and constant hustle to prove myself again. Don’t see myself staying in consulting forever, and have already been in consulting for 3.5 years. Any advice from folks that have done this? Can’t help but feel I should’ve kept looking for a FAANG exit rather than consulting.
Transitioned into consulting post-MBA (1.5 years ago) and generally enjoyed the experience. Since I joined my comp has gone up ~13% and I’ve liked my project teams but in my most recent review talk my partner told me he thought I was ready to be promoted and had advocated for me but there was an HR rule against it and I was on-track to be promoted in 6 months. Since then I’ve learned that one of my classmates (started 2-3 months before me due to COVID) was promoted last cycle.
Seems like every consulting firm has some variation of New/Digital ventures. Have any of them successfully ventured anything? I know PwC has some kind-of successful healthcare thing.
Question for folks in here who work at a company with unlimited PTO/vacation - how do you manage this from being abused by employees?
Deloitte fishes - how does it look switching across sectors as a new experienced hire? For example if I was in consumer product and want to go to Life Sciences and Healthcare or if I was in Life Sciences and went to TMT, is that frowned upon? Don’t want to lose my current network and have to start “new” elsewhere but I don’t really like my current sector
Currently an S1 in TR in the north west, making 94k. Just started talks with KPMG, what should I throw out there for salary expectations? I stated 110k and was told that’s in range, just want to make sure I’m not undercutting myself.
New to PwC..can someone explain the wealth builder and other benefits at the manager level??
What does one typically talk about during an interview with the COO? I made it past 5 rounds plus a modeling exam so far.
