I second this.
Vast improvement across the board (especially the median quality of people) except for hours / WLB
1. Way more focus on value and impact. Also due to the high fees we charge to clients we need to demonstrate our value
2. Way more tools and resources to leverage. Eg, excel addin, production team, assistant once you are a manager level to deal with admin stuff, expert team, access to a lot databases, etc. It’s day and night difference on this between MBB and B4.

4. Up or out. I personally think this is a decisive differentiator. When I was at B4 (a strategy arm), I felt as long as you are willing to stay and can somehow do a good job your changes to become a partner is super high. Even sometimes I wonder how come that person became a partner. At B it’s way different. You will have to keep proofing yourself and the up or out sets a much healthier ecosystem of talents.
I gave up great support network at my previous firm but very glad about my decision. To me it is totally worth to experience MBB during some part of my career.

Generally better across the board, but VAST difference in terms of the analytical ability of the average person and the quality/speed at which you’re expected to produce (comparison is Deloitte S&A). Came in as an experienced BA (so lateral move)
