So sorry to hear that. Are you very sick?

The kids are mostly grumpy with a side of sickness. I am testing negative.

This is my worst nightmare. Do you have friends/family that can help? Sending positive thoughts for a speedy recovery ❤️‍🩹

Advice from any moms or child care takers.
My niece is in fourth grade and she opened up to me about having body issues and afraid of bullying at school. She told me that she is friends with a girl that is chubbier and is from a single parent household and that kids in her class make fun of her for it. She thinks that if she is chubby other kids will make fun of her, too. She has a belly (but she’s in 4th grade ffs!!). She told me that she feels really self conscious and wants to have a (cont).

I'm 16 weeks pregnant (1st time). My office (in NYC) is re-starting back to work in 2 weeks. I previously had an exemption for fertility treatments as exemptions were given for any medical reason. Now there are no more exemptions being given & I would need to request one from my LoB head.

I have a new team whom I have never met & if I don't go back now, I wont see them until Dec. I am boosted but my commute is about an hour including bus ride & a 25 min walk each way. What would you do?

TLDR: Getting over your ex of 2.5 years ghosting you after they said they wanted to reconnect.

I was dating someone for about 2.5 years and then we broke up because of COVID and the long distance was making it too difficult to continue. The break up must’ve been like a 4-5 minute FaceTime because I was very distraught. After we broke up, she started seeing someone else but I was heartbroken and it’s taken me over a year to really get over everything and process those feelings. (Cont.)

Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?

Need some advice for investing, I make a base salary of 180k - meaning after taxes and 401k etc I take home 9k per month. Child care , living expenses - 4-4.5k, investments in india - 2.5k, I have up to 2-2.5k left every month. Should I be putting all of it in ETFs ? That would be about 33%-25% of my salary. I put my bonuses and stocks in savings accounts and CDs for my kid. Thoughts? Thank you!

Anyone use Hodinkee for insurance? I’ve been with Jewelers Mutual for a long time, never had to file a claim (the true test), but I’m annoyed with their requests for updated appraisals. It sounds like Hodinkee is more automated, any good though? I don’t see why I should get a banged up Panerai re-appraised, just want simple coverage.

Ladies, I need work/fashion tips. I work in center city Philadelphia. Our dress code is “business casual.” I want to implement more outfits with sneakers. I struggle with what hem length and pant style (tapered, flare, etc.) work best.
When I look on Pinterest, most of the results show very casual work outfits w/ sneaks & while I think dark wash jeans, blouse and blazers can look cute/presentable, it’s not appropriate for my office (I’m in healthcare).

I hung out this weekend with a work friend of mine. We’re both junior, but I’ve been on FMLA due to an unexpected illness so have been away for a bit. I know that I screwed up on some files before I was diagnosed which I feel awful about and have been trying to rectify (unpaid), but she spent a lot of time cataloguing the ways in which I messed up. It was supposed to be a nice weekend for once and I’m feeling more beat down than ever 😕 just not sure how to get the motivation/nerve to go back!

I quit. I was respectful. Thankfully, every person I have told has been so nice, and I wasn't immediately bounced out by my leadership (which has happened), but I have been surprised by my own bittersweet tears. If they actually cared, why didn't they say so sooner? I gave so much, and I was consumed by this organization. I invested in them, but my investment and dedication were not reciprocated, which is why I ever even entertained leaving. I don't know why it hurts, but it really, really does.

Had a talk with the partners Thursday, they said I’m not producing enough work at the end of each day. First year associate, new area of law, wfh so they are more “what are you doing every second”. While I appreciate their honesty, I feel like they consider me severely indebted to them that they hired me mid pandemic and “allow” me to work from home.

Took my first vacation (1 week) in over a year to visit family. Was bombarded by emails from one partner asking me to complete non-time sensitive motions, which he hasn’t even bothered to review. This is my third firm in three years (first I left as I was severely underpaid, second I left for a 100k increase in salary), but this lack of respect for my boundaries has made me want to move again once I’ve completed 18 mos. Question for a crowd with good negotiation skills...my sibling is marrying someone of a different faith. My mom is freaking out and doesn’t want to go to the wedding. How can I resolve this?

I joined a new firm October 1 & billed a 200 hour month. With my current workload, I am expecting to meet or exceed my prorated hours target. When I accepted the position, future bonuses were discussed, but given ramp up, etc. I didn’t think to ask about a prorated bonus for my stump year. Has anyone dealt with this before? I hate to ask & sound greedy, but I relocated (at a pay cut) for this position & a bonus would really help going to my mortgage payments I’m still carrying for my old condo.
