Any opinions on this program? Mergers & Acquisitions Professional Certificate from NYIF

Networking and showing interest is probably the biggest thing you can do. From there I’d try to get involved early in the next deal the team does and then support it the whole way. After that, I’d think it’d be a fairly easy discussion to have with the team about moving over full time. As far as that certificate goes, I wouldn’t spend money on it. I’d do some reading and make sure you really understand the process and can talk to the components of a deal.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I’m looking forward to the reads.

To confirm I understand your question: you are on the corp strat & dev team at an industry company and want to focus solely on Corp dev?

Yes. That’s correct. There are only 5 of us and our deal-guy just left. I want to scoot over there but don’t have m&a experience other than diligence & integration.

Can’t decide between Cornell’s Metro vs. Americas EMBA program. They both seem to be great and offer an Cornell MBA upon graduation. Americas costs about 155k while the Metro NY costs 205k. Both programs are 60 credits in different formats. I can’t seem to understand the difference in price. I like the Americas program because of its flexibility (can attend from selected cities across the US so I would not be stuck in NY). I like the Metro NY for the in-person classroom environment.
