Big procrastinator/easily distracted. Asked doctor to prescribe Adderall XR. If I take it will it just make be more focused on procrastinating?

Yeah sometimes it does make me more focused on something entirely unrelated to work. It’s usually some bullshit too, like going into Wikipedia, looking something partially relevant to work, then following some link and 2 hours later I’m reading about anacondas, the French aristocracy, lsd, how dams are built, etc.....

Yeah. That's me and YouTube.. I'll start watching A DIY video and then somehow I end up watching hours of music videos from the 90s and start reminiscing how much fun I had back in the day.

Then it's 4am and I'm like oh chit...I got to get some sleep!😳

funny

No. It likely will not. But if it does, you’ll get a lot of other shit done while your procrastinating

Is asking your doctor for adderall a "thing"? I am most definitely ADD and it affects my life severely but I'm basically intimidated to tell a doctor and ask for drugs.

like

Just get an add test

Try really hard to not get distracted first 15 minutes or so. Once you take it you are locked in on whatever you are doing. Or at least that’s how it worked for me.

like

Yep this is what I have to do. On IR though

Doc might not prescribe you Adderall! Based on my symptoms, she prescribed me something else, after doing some blood work to rule out any issues like my thyroid or a vitamin deficiency. I haven’t taken it yet, but there are other options out there. Your doctor should be your partner in figuring this out with you. Don’t be intimidated to bring it up, @M1!

I was having concentration issues (basically my whole life, but punctuated because covid) but I also have anxiety.

My doctor recommended Strattera. It builds into your system and just generally makes you sharper and more motivated without riding the waves of Adderrall. You have to take it daily but I prefer it

Similar situation. I used to take vyvanse as opposed to adderall which is what I took when I was younger

Agent recommended to increase deductible to $5k but it is saving about $190/yr.. SSRIs and cognitive function. I probably need to go back on lexapro but am worried about the associated negative impact to thinking/memory/performance. I feel like right now I am barely keeping up with my peers from an intellectual perspective. Worried that once I start taking it again I won’t be as effective, I’ll fall behind, and my career will suffer as a result. When i was on it while working, at the very least I was lazier and sloppier. What are your thoughts and experiences?

Hi everyone! For those that feel comfortable, would love to see the breakdown AFC > eggs retrieved > fertilized > embryo > genetically normal (please feel free to include other steps, add in more numbers/details). I've read the averages of how it gets narrowed down, but always prefer hearing real breakdowns. I'm in the process of my first egg retrieval and trying to stay realistic. Really appreciate it!

If I see one more article on how millennials are ruining the economy or housing market by not buying enough homes or selling enough homes I'm going to scream. We were saving for 3 years before Covid and had to use a solid chunk to take care of ourselves and our families during quarantine. Now that we're ready to save again inflation and COL are at an all-time high and we're headed into a recession. And somehow this is my fault for what...not being a boomer? Bffr.
